  The Brantford Police Service is Accepting Applications for a  Full-Time Court Constable
 

Under the supervision of the Sergeant in charge of Court Services, the successful applicant will work as part of a team of Special Constables that is responsible for the safety and security of all court facility users, transporting offenders and serving summonses, subpoenas and warrants. They will provide court security at the Provincial Offences, Ontario and Superior court buildings in Brantford by inspecting and monitoring court rooms and custody areas. Additional responsibilities include: operating magnetometers at court facility entrances and screening court facility users, escorting offenders to and from custody areas and courtrooms, monitoring courtroom users, maintaining courtroom decorum and transporting offenders to and from various jails, medical facilities and detention centres located throughout the province and fingerprinting.  . Additional duties will be assigned as required.
 
Applicants must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills, basic computer skills, a valid Ontario class ‘G’ driver’s license with a good driving history and be capable of operating large offender transportation vehicles in a safe and effective manner.  Applicants must also possess a current Applicant Testing Services Special Constable Certificate of Results (see www.applicanttesting.com) and current valid CPR/First Aid Certificates.
This is a full-time position, 40 hour work week with various start times and some weekend and statutory holiday shifts. The current hourly rate is $24.00 with a paid comprehensive benefit package.
As part of the selection process candidates will be required to undergo a suitability evaluation with a psychologist and have an extensive background inquiry.
