1. MINUTES

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Brantford Police Services Board held October 21, 2010, be adopted as circulated. Carried
2. REPORTS
a) Statistical Reports
The Monthly Statistical Report for October 2010 was received. Acting Deputy Chief Easto highlighted points of interest in the report. He noted that the rash of robberies had curtailed due to an arrest. A/Deputy Easto further reported that the new Crime Analyst has started in her position and he looked forward to receiving analytical reports on crime patterns.
b) Monthly Budget Report
The Monthly Budget Report for the period ending October 31, 2010, prepared by Inspector W.G. Nelson, was received, which indicated the budget was slightly under straight-line projections.
c) Adult School Crossing Guard Location Annual Review
Acting Chief Kellner spoke to this report, prepared by Sergeant M. Moravek and A/Sergeant G. Lee, which provided an overview of the locations where adult school crossing guards are placed. He noted that the report was produced as a CALEA requirement, and that the standard had been changed from an analysis to a review.
d) Resignations from Brantford Police Services Board

THAT the Brantford Police Services Board confirms a telephone poll taken October 26, 2010, that the resignations from the Brantford Police Services Board of Larry Kings and Debi Dignan-Rumble be accepted, effective October 26, 2010.

3. CORRESPONDENCE
There was no correspondence of note.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a) Request to Donate Used Chairs
A/Chief Kellner introduced a memorandum from Inspector G. Nelson, which indicated that 20 office chairs are scheduled to be decommissioned within the next three weeks. The chairs are estimated to have an auction value of $5 to $10 each. He recommended that the chairs be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for redistribution to those in need. A/Chief Kellner supported the recommendation.

THAT the Brantford Police Services Board supports the recommendation of staff and approves the donation of 20 decommissioned chairs to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

b) Chair – Brantford Police Services Board
Chair Littell advised that since his term of office would conclude on November 30, 2010, he would step down as Chair, effective immediately. Mayor Mike Hancock assumed the Chair.

THAT the Brantford Police Services Board accepts the resignation of Mark Littell from the position of Chair, effective immediately.

Both Mark Littell and Mayor Mike Hancock thanked everyone as it was their last Board meeting and indicated they enjoyed their time on the Police Services Board. Chair Renzella thanked both Mayor Hancock and Mark Littell for their service to the Board and the community.
5. NEXT MEETING DATE
The next public meeting of the Board will be held on January 20, 2011, at 12:00 noon. The meeting adjourned at 1:40 p.m. The minutes of this meeting were adopted this 20th day of January, 2011.
