1. MINUTES

2. OLD BUSINESS
a) Review of Taxi Bylaw #99-01

THAT the Brantford Police Services Board, having reviewed Bylaw #99-01 – Taxis, supports the recommendation of staff that no amendments are required.

3. REPORTS
a) Monthly Statistical Report – August 2009
Deputy Chief Kellner highlighted points of interest in the report.
He commented that a Wilfrid Laurier student will be undertaking a research paper on use of sick time by our employees. The Board will receive a copy of the completed report. Deputy Chief Kellner was asked to supply to the Board a copy of the Terms of Reference for the research paper.
b) Third Quarter Budget Report
This report, prepared by Inspector G. Nelson, i/c Administration Branch, was received which indicated comparisons between the YTD straight-line projection and actual expenditures reveal below-average expenditures through the third quarter.
c) Third Quarter Auction Proceeds Account Report
The 2009 Third Quarter Report was received, indicating a balance of $44, 234.59.
d) Third Quarter Complaints Against Police Report
This report, prepared by Inspector K. Pottruff, was received. The report indicated ten conduct complaints and two service complaints had been received during this quarter.
e) Police Service Complaint
Chief McElveny provided a report on a complaint of the service provided by the Brantford Police. The complaint has been withdrawn and no further action or investigation is necessary. Chief McElveny reminded the Board that legislation requires all service complaints to be brought to the attention of the Police Services Board.
4. NEXT MEETING DATE
The next meeting of the Brantford Police Services Board will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 1:00 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
