Type:  Stolen Vehicle - Arrest
Incident: 18-15587
Location: George Street
Incident:  On Saturday April 28, 2018 just after 2:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle driving in the area of George Street.  Information received was that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen.  Officers observed the vehicle as it parked on George Street and four occupants exited.  Officers attended to the vehicle where they attempted to arrest the four occupants.  During the arrest the female driver fled on foot but was arrested after a short foot pursuit.  She was found to be in possession of a knife.  Investigation revealed 0.78 grams of suspected cocaine (approx. street value $100.00) located in the vehicle and one accused was in possession of 0.23 grams (approx. street value $40.00) of cocaine.  A 22 year old Female from Ohsweken is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Escape Lawful Custody under the Criminal Code.  She is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.  A 34 year old female from Ohsweken is charged with Being an Occupant in a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code along with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.   A 25 year old male from New York is charged with Being an Occupant in a Stolen Motor Vehicle.  A 21 year old female from Brantford is charged with being an Occupant in a Stolen Motor Vehicle.         

Type: Traffic Stop - Speeding

Location: King George Road    
Incident: On Saturday April 28, 2018 just after 5:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers as part of a Road Safety Initiative were monitoring the speed of traffic on King George Road. Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The vehicle was confirmed to be travelling 98 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  A 20 year old Brantford male is charged with Speeding 98 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone under the Highway Traffic Act.

Location: Memorial Drive    
Incident: On Saturday April 28, 2018 just after 9:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a theft from a residential parking lot on Memorial Drive.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) jacked up a Dodge Ram pickup that was parked in a residential complex parking lot.  The vehicle was left sitting on blocks.  Reported stolen was a set of tires and rims.

Location: Lynden Park Mall 
Incident: On Sunday April 29, 2018 just after 2:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a report about a suspicious male in the parking lot of the Lynden Park Mall.  The male was seen trying door handles and getting into various vehicles in the parking lot.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the Lynden Park Mall where they searched the area for the suspect.  Officers observed the male as he was forcing his way into a vehicle in the parking lot.  Officers attended to the vehicle where the accused was arrested without incident.  A 29 year old Ohsweken male is charged with Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00 x2 and Breach of Probation.               
 
Type: Suspended Driver      
Incident: 18-15681
Location: King George Road    
Incident: On Saturday April 28, 2018 just before 10:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers were monitoring traffic on King George Road.  As part of a Road Safety Initiative Officers were monitoring the speed of traffic in the area.  Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The vehicle was confirmed to be travelling 89 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone.  Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.  Officers spoke to the female driver and confirmed that her driver?s licence was currently suspended.  A 34 year old Ohsweken female is charged with Drive While Under Suspension and Speeding 89 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone under the Highway Traffic Act.  She is further charged with Fail to Surrender Valid Insurance Card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Type:  Break and Enter ? Residential
Incident: 18-15377
Location: Colborne Street East
Incident:  On Thursday April 26, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Colborne Street East.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open the front door and entered the residence.  The residence was rummaged through.  Reported taken was jewelry and money.

Location: Dorchester Ave 
Incident: On April 27, 2018 just after 1:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a suspicious vehicle in the area of Dorchester Ave.  A vehicle had been parked in the area for some time that was not known to the area.  Damage was also observed on the vehicle.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle and confirmed that the vehicle had been previously been reported stolen.  Officers did not find anyone in the vehicle and the area was subsequently searched.

Location: Wayne Gretzky Parkway    
Incident: On Thursday April 26, 2018 just before 10:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Wayne Gretzky Parkway.  Employees advised that an unknown male was in the store, disrupting customers and staff and was refusing to leave.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the male in the store.  A 55 year old Brantford male has been charged under the Trespass to Property Act.

Location: Erie Ave    
Incident: On Friday April 27, 2018 just after 10:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Erie Ave.  The vehicle did not have a front licence plate displayed on the vehicle and information received was the licence plate attached to the rear of the vehicle was not registered to that vehicle.   Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation revealed that the drivers licence was currently suspended and that he had recently purchased the vehicle and had not registered it.  Further investigation revealed that there was no insurance on the vehicle.  As a result of the investigation the driver a 35 year old Brantford male is charged with, Drive While Under Suspension, Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner, Drive Motor Vehicle - Fail to Display Two Plates and Use Plates not Authorized for Motor Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.  The driver was also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle - No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Type:  Break and Enter ? Residential
Incident: 18-15222
Location: Patterson Ave
Incident:  On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, just before 12:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a possible Break and Enter on Patterson Ave.  An unknown male was seen lurking around the residence and going into the back yard.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they observed the rear door had been kicked in.  Police then observed the suspect breaking out a screen in a front upper window of the residence where he jumped out. The suspect fled the area and a short foot pursuit ensued.  The accused was arrested without incident as he tried to enter a local Motel.  Investigation revealed that the accused had rented a room at the Motel using identification that had previously been reported stolen.  At the time of this incident the accused was bound by court orders with conditions and was also wanted on outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction.  Daniel Art Verbaan a 29 year old Waterloo male is charged with Break and Enter with Intent, Possession of Break in instruments, Possession of Stolen Property, Utter Forged documents, Personation and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Dunsdon Street 
Incident: On Thursday April 26, 2018 just before 2:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Dunsdon Street at a high rate of speed; was weaving in and out of marked lanes and stopped for a green light.  A traffic stop was conducted and the male driver spoken to.  Officers upon speaking to the driver noted signs of impairment.  The driver was arrested and was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide two samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were two times over the legal limit.  The accused a 25 year old Brantford male is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Impaired Over 80.  The accused licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Grey Street    
Incident: On Thursday April 26, 2018 just after 2:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a domestic.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the victim who had fled her residence on Grey Street after getting into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend.  Investigation revealed that the accused had attended to the victim?s residence to talk to her about their relationship.  The two got into a verbal argument that turned physical.  The victim was struck a number of times and received non-life threatening injuries.  She was transported to local hospital and treated.  Officers attended to the residence where they located the accused who was arrested without incident.  A 26 year old Ohsweken male is charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Breach of Recognizance.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: 18-15141
Location: Wayne Gretzky Parkway
Incident:  On Tuesday April 24, 2018 just after 6:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a male riding a bike in the area of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Edmonson Street.  Officers recognized the male as being wanted on an outstanding warrant.  The male seeing police tried to flee the area.  Officers were able to stop the male and he was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed the accused was in possession of 3.6 g of crystal methamphetamine (Approx. street value $430.00).  The accused at the time of his arrest was also bound by a court orders with conditions.  A 23 year old Brantford male is charged with Breach of Probation x2, Breach of Undertaking x2 under the Criminal Code.  He is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: 18-15190
Location: Terrace Hill Street 
Incident: On Tuesday April 25, 2018 just after 5:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a resident on Terrace Hill Street.  The resident reported that her neighbour was causing a disturbance outside her residence, he was yelling and screaming and throwing things at her property.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the male outside.  The male was arrested without incident.  A 26 year old Brantford male is charged with Mischief to Property and Cause a Disturbance under the Criminal Code.        
 
Type: Break and Enter ? Residential      
Incident: 18-14749
Location: St Paul Ave    
Incident: On Saturday April 21, 2018 just before 11:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residential complex.  Unknown person(s) had entered into the complex, went to the basement and proceeded to break into several storage lockers.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the building and confirmed the Break and Enter.  Video surveillance was available and through investigation it was discovered that two males had entered the complex just after 4:30 p.m. and broke into the storage lockers.  Officers were able to identify the suspects through the use of the video surveillance.  On Sunday April 22, 2018 Officers were able to locate one of the accused who was arrested without incident.  On Tuesday April 24, 2018 Officers were able to locate the second male who was arrested without incident.  A 37 year old Brantford residence is charged with Break, Enter and Commit and Breach of Probation. A 46 year old Brantford resident is charged with Break, Enter and Commit.

Incident: 18-14946
Location: Colborne Street East
Incident:  On Tuesday April 23, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a business on Colborne Street East.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) entered into the business.  Reported stolen from the business were various tools.   

Type:  Theft - Shoplifting      
Incident: 18-15021
Location: Market Street South
Incident: On Monday April 23, 2018 just before 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Market Street South.  A female had attended to the business where she proceeded to pick up an item and conceal it in her purse.  She then picked up a second item and proceeded through the checkout and left the store without making any attempts to pay for the item concealed.  The female was confronted by a Loss Prevention Officer who contacted police.   Community Patrol Officers attended to the business and arrested the accused without incident.  A 55 year old Brantford woman is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00.  The accused was released with a future court date.

Location: Marlborough Street    
Incident: On Monday April 23, 2018 just before 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Marlborough Street.  The victim a 48 year old female had had a verbal argument with her son which had turned physical.  The suspect became agitated at his mother and struck her before going into the kitchen and breaking a number of items.  The victim left the residence in an attempt to call police and was followed by her son.  She was then further assaulted and threatened.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where the accused was located and arrested.  The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the altercation.  Information received that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.   A 15 year old male is charged with Breach of Recognizance, Assault, Mischief Under $5000 and Uttering Threats under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Market Street South
Incident: On Monday April 23, 2018 just before 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Market Street South.  A male had attended to the business where he proceeded to pick up items and conceal them under his clothing.  He then picked up other items and proceeded through the checkout and left the store without making any attempts to pay for the concealed items.  The male was confronted by a Loss Prevention Officer who contacted police.   Community Patrol Officers attended to the business and arrested the accused without incident.  A 22 year old Hagersville man is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00.  The accused was released with a future court date.

Location: Market Street
Incident:  On Saturday April 21, 2018 just after 3:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an assault.  The 43 year old male victim had been travelling in his vehicle on Market Street.  The victim stopped at a traffic signal and waited to make a turn.  While stopped an unknown male approached the driver and struck him through an open window.  The suspect then proceeded to kick the vehicle and threatened to further harm the driver.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the accused a short distance away.  The accused was arrested without incident.  A 29 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault and Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Dunsdon Street
Incident: On Sunday April 22, 2018 just before 7:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from concerned citizens.  A male and a female were seen arguing at Mohawk Park, they got into a vehicle and left the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the Park but were unable to locate them.  A description of the vehicle and parties involved was provided by people in the area.  The vehicle was located on Dunsdon Street and a traffic stop was performed.  Upon speaking to the female driver she showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  Further investigation revealed that she had been in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend which had turned physical where she had struck him a number of times.  The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where she provided two samples of her breath as required by law.  Her readings were over the legal limit.  A 32 year old Barrie woman is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired ? Over 80 and Assault.

Location: Dalhousie Street    
Incident: On Sunday April 22, 2018 just after 7:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a disturbance at a business on Dalhousie Street.  An unknown female was inside the business causing a disturbance and was asked to leave by employees.  The female grabbed a drink and tried to throw it on one of the employees.  Other employees intervened and were assaulted by the female.  The employees were able to get the female out of the business.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the suspect a short distance away and she was arrested without incident.  A 22 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault and Mischief Under $5000.00.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Sherwood Drive    
Incident:    On Saturday April 21, 2018 just after 4:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Sherwood Drive as it stopped at a store in the area.  Officers recognized the vehicle as having been reported stolen.  Officers located the vehicle and arrested the male driver and female passenger.  Further investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Fentanyl (0.5 g street value approx.. $200).  Information received that both accused were currently bound by court orders.  A 39 year old Brantford male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00, Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.  A 20 year old Brantford woman is charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code.

Location: Palace Street
Incident:  On Friday April 20, 2018 just after 12:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Palace Street.  Sometime during the evening unknown person(s) broke into the residence through a side door.  Reported taken were electronics.

Location: Aberdeen Ave
Incident: On Thursday April 19 2018, just after 5:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance in a complex located on Aberdeen Ave.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area and located a 29 year old male who had an injury to his hand.  Investigation revealed that the victim had tried to intervene and break up an altercation between two individuals.  While doing so he received an injury to his hand from one of the suspect males who had pulled out a knife.  The victim was treated at the scene and released.  Officers received a description of the suspect male who was located a short distance away and was arrested without incident.   A 46 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault with a Weapon.

Type:  Stolen Vehicle - Arrest
Incident: 18-14238
Location: Park Ave
Incident  On Wednesday April 18, 2018 just before 10:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle parked at the intersection of Park Ave and Victoria Street.  Officers recognized the vehicle as having been reported stolen.  An unknown female was observed getting items from the backseat of the vehicle.  Officers stopped and spoke to the female who ran from police.  After a short foot pursuit the female was arrested without incident.  Investigation confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen; the licence plates affixed to the vehicle had also been reported stolen from a different vehicle.  The accused at the time of her arrest was bound by a court order with conditions.  Taylor Cathleen Lapointe a 21 year old female from Brantford is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00, Obstruct Police and Breach of Recognizance Order under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Colborne Street
Incident: On Wednesday April 18, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residential complex on Colborne Street.  A suspicious person was seen hanging out in the complex and in the stairwell.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area and located a female inside the stairwell.  Officers observed the female to be in possession of controlled substance believed to be cocaine.  A 29 year old Brantford female is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Cocaine (3g - approx. $300.00) under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.                         

Type:  Stunt Driving       
Incident: 18-14328
Location: King George Road    
Incident: On Thursday April 19, 2018 just after 1:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers were monitoring traffic on King George Road.  As part of a Road Safety Initiative Officers were monitoring the speed of traffic in the area.  Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The vehicle was confirmed to be travelling over a 100 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone.  Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.  A 24 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive Motor Vehicle ? Perform Stunt Speeding by 50 Km/hr or more and Speeding 101 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone under the Highway Traffic Act.  The driver?s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Location: St George Street
Incident  On Tuesday April 17, 2018 just before 10:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle on St George St and Queensway Drive.  The vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign and a traffic stop was conducted.  Officers spoke to the driver who was unable to produce a valid driver?s licence, insurance or permit for the vehicle.  Investigation revealed that the driver?s licence was currently under suspension.  A 30 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Under Suspension, Drive Motor Vehicle No Currently Valid Permit, Disobey Stop Sign ? Fail to Stop, Fail to Notify Change of Address under the Highway Traffic Act.  He is also charged with Owner Operate Motor Vehicle No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Location: Lynnwood Drive
Incident: On Tuesday April 17, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter on Lynnwood Drive.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open the front door to the residence.  Reported taken from the residence was money.

Incident: 18-14153
Location: West Street    
Incident: On Tuesday April 17, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter to a complex on West Street. Unknown person(s) had entered the complex, broke into the laundry room and into several coin operated washers and dryers.  The laundry machines were damaged and money taken.
