Brantford Police are seeking the public?s assistance in locating a missing 49 year old female, Siao-Ling  Lai (nickname Eileen). 
Siao-Ling Lai, is described as a South East Asian female, 5?4 ", approximately 205 pounds, with black straight hair and a gap in her front teeth.  She was last observed wearing an orange shirt and grey shorts in the area of Sherwood Drive on July 30, 2018 around 6:00 a.m.  The female requires medication which she did not take with her and Police are concerned for his wellbeing.

Location: West Street    
Incident: On Monday July 30th, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on West Street.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) broke into the residence.  Reported stolen was a mountain bike and a gaming console.

Location: Dalhousie Street    
Incident: On Monday July 30, 2018 just before 5:30 p.m. the Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Dalhousie Street.  A report was received about a male who was outside yelling and screaming and causing a disturbance in the neighbourhood.  The male had gotten into a verbal argument with a neighbour which turned physical.  The victim was able to retreat into his residence while the accused continue to scream at him, threating to kill him.  The accused then spoke to another person in the area where he proceeded to smack her in the buttocks.  The second victim was able to leave the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended and upon arrival located the accused who was acting in an aggressive manner in the street.  When officers arrived the accused approached and started to punch a marked police vehicle.  During his arrest the accused was found to be in possession of marihuana.  The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he further damaged Police Property.  A 32 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault, Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Sexual Assault, Mischief to Property Under $5000.00 and Assault Police under the Criminal Code.  He was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana) under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Erie Ave    
Incident: On Sunday July 29th, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a theft from a residence on Erie Ave.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) stole various construction materials from a residential complex located on Erie Ave.  Reported taken was an A/C unit, ductwork and piping.

Incident: On Sunday July 29, 2018 just after 1:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call from a business on Colborne Street East.  An unknown female had been shopping and was seen concealing a number of items in an oversized handbag.  She went to the checkout where she proceeded to pay for items in her cart, but not the ones concealed.  She left the store without making any attempts to pay for the concealed items.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the store where they located and arrested the accused without incident.  A 54 year old Brantford female is charged with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.

Incident: On Sunday July 29, 2018 just after 9:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Superior Street.  A male had gotten into a verbal argument with his mother.  He began to threaten to harm her, spit in her face and started to destroy property in the residence.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they located and arrested the accused without incident.   A 17 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault, Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Mischief to Property Under $5000.00.

Location: Dunsdon Street    
Incident: On Sunday July 29, 2018 just after 8:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle being driven on Dunsdon Street near Cedarland Drive.  Information had been received that the vehicles registration was not valid.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation revealed that the drivers licence was currently under suspension.  A 33 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle ? No Currently Validated Permit under the Highway Traffic Act.

Male Faces Trafficking Charges After more than $20,000 of Fentanyl is Seized

Brantford Police charge a 23 year old man after a large amount of suspected fentanyl is located.

On July 18, 2018 the Brantford Police Service - Street Crime Unit conducted an investigation into drug activity at a Motel Located on Colborne Street.  During the investigation two males were identified as being wanted on outstanding warrants for their arrest, along with being on court orders with conditions which they were violating.  During the investigation the two males were arrested on the outstanding warrants and were charged with Failing to Comply with their court orders.  One of the accused during his arrest attempted to spit on one of the investigating officers and was found to be in possession of a number of Percocet Tablets and was charged with Assault Peace Officer and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. 

On July 19, 2018 the BPS ?Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on the Motel room which Accused #2 had occupied.  During the execution of the Search Warrant a large amount of suspected Fentanyl and a small amount of Marihuana was located.  In total 76.28 grams of suspected Fentanyl was located with a street value of $22,884.00 was seized.  As a result of the investigation, Aladin Elfatih Abd Elgadir a 23 year old Dundas male is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  He is also charged with Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code.

On July 18th, 2018, the Brantford Police Service - Street Crime Unit was conducting an investigation regarding drug activity at the Motel on Colborne Street in the City of Brantford. Officers had identified a male occupying a room at the motel that was wanted on outstanding warrants. A second male was also identified as staying at the Motel that was also wanted on outstanding warrants.  Just after 1:00 p.m., Detectives from the Street Crime Unit witnessed accused #1 walk away from the motel. Officers attempted to stop and arrest the accused but he attempted to flee on foot. The accused was caught and arrested without incident. Investigation confirmed the accused was currently wanted on outstanding warrants for his arrest and was currently bound by court orders with conditions which he was contravening.  Officers attended to the Motel where they located the second accused attempting to flee the area through a rear window of a motel room.  Officers made contact with the male who was arrested without incident.  Investigation confirmed the accused was currently wanted on outstanding warrants for his arrest and was currently bound by court orders which he was contravening.  During the investigation, accused #2 attempted to spit on Officers and was found to be in possession of 43 Percocet Tablets ($215 value).  Accused #1 a 23 year old Hamilton male is charged with Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance and was held for bail.  Accused #2 a 23 year old Dundas male is charged with Assault Peace Officer and Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code.  He is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. He was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: On Thursday July 19th, 2018 just after 11:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Brant Ave.  Information had been received that the driver?s licence was currently suspended.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which failed to stop and fled from police.  The vehicle was last seen heading down Grand River Ave.  Officers were in the area and observed the vehicle pull into an address on Grand River Ave where the male driver fled on foot.  Officers attended to the area where the male was located and arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle contained 475.89 grams of marihuana (valued $9518.00).  A 42 year old Brantford male is charged with Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and Flight from Police under the Criminal Code.  He is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, along with Drive while under suspension x3 under the Highway Traffic Act.

Incident: On Thursday July 19, 2018 just after 1:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on St Paul Ave.  An unknown male had just stolen a number of items from the store and had fled the area on foot.  Information was received that the male had been in the store where he selected a number of items and concealed them in a backpack.  The male left the store without making any attempts to pay for the items.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the suspect male a short distance away.  As officers attempted to arrest the male he fled on foot.  After a short foot pursuit the male was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 34 year old Brantford male is charged with Breach of Probation, Escape Lawful Custody and Theft Under $5000.00 of the Criminal Code.

Incident: On Tuesday July 17, 2018 just after 3:00 p.m. Community patrol Officers observed a male in the area of Stanley Street.  The male was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  Officers attended and spoke to the male whose identification was confirmed.  The accused was arrested on the outstanding warrant without incident.  Investigation revealed the accused to be in possession of 0.15 grams of cocaine.  The accused was currently bound by two separate court orders with conditions.  A 32 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance ? Cocaine under of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  He is also charged with Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code of Canada and Breach of Probation under the Provincial Offences Act.  The accused has been held for bail.

Incident: On Wednesday July 18, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about an assault that occurred on Colborne Street.  The victim had gotten into a verbal argument with his landlord. The suspect male proceeded to get into his vehicle and when he drove away he purposely drove at the victim in an attempt to hit him.  The victim had to jump out of the way of the vehicle so he was not hit.  The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.  Investigation revealed that the accused is currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 55 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle and Breach of Probation.

Location: Wayne Gretzky Parkway    
Incident: On Tuesday July 17, 2018 just before 3:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an impaired driver.  An unknown male was observed drinking alcohol while in his vehicle in a parking lot on Wayne Gretzky Parkway.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the vehicle with the male driver sitting in the driver?s seat.  An open bottle of beer was observed in the cup holder of the vehicle.  Officers spoke to the driver and investigation revealed he had consumed alcoholic beverages.  A demand was issued to provide a sample into an approached roadside device which registered a fail.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused readings were over the legal limit.  A 22 year old Brantford male is charged with Care and Control of Motor Vehicle ? Over 80 under the Criminal Code.  His driver?s licence was suspended for 90 and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Incident: On Tuesday July 17, 2018 just before 2:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle traveling on Colborne Street.  Information received was the driver of the vehicle had a suspended drivers licence.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation confirmed that the drivers licence was currently under suspension.  Investigation also revealed that the vehicle was not currently insured.  A 37 year old Brantford male is charged with Drive While Under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.  He is also charged with Owner Operate Motor Vehicle- No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Incident: On Monday July 16th, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about a theft from a trailer.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) broke into a locked work trailer that was parked on Drummond Street.  Reported stolen were a number of power and construction tools.

Incident: On Sunday July 15, 2018 just after 6:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a stolen bicycle.  The victim had previously reported their bike stolen from a business on Lynden Road.  While in the area of Henry Street and Wayne Gretzky Pkwy the victim observed an unknown male operating their stolen bicycle.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the location where they located the suspect male.  Investigation revealed the accused to be in possession of the stolen property.  Further investigation revealed the accused to be in possession of break-in instruments as well as being bound by a court order with conditions.  A 34 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: On Sunday July 15, 2018 just after 9:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an unknown male with a knife.  The victim had been in the area of Grey Street and George Street when he was confronted by the accused.  The accused threatened the victim, pulled a knife and started to chase him down the street.  While chasing the victim the accused was threatening to kill him.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where the accused was located and arrested without incident.  The victim was not injured as a result of the altercation.  A 19 year old Brantford male has been charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of Weapons Dangerous under the Criminal Code of Canada.   The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: On Saturday July 14th, 2018 just after 11:00 p.m. the Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter in progress to a residence on West Street.  An unknown male had just kicked in the side door to a residence on West Street but fled when confronted by the home owner.  The accused proceeded to a residence next door where he then kicked in the front door to the residence.  While inside he ransacked and caused damage to the inside of the residence.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they located the accused who was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  The accused a 25 year old Ohsweken male is charged with Break, Enter and Commit x2, Theft Under $5000, Mischief Under $5000 and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: On Thursday July 5, 2018 just before 6:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on King George Road regarding a Break and Enter.  Overnight unknown person(s) broke into the business and stole a number of items.  Reported stolen was audio and stereo equipment.

Incident: On Thursday July 5, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report about a Break and Enter form a property on Mary Street.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) broke into the property and removed copper lines and other construction material.

Incident: On Thursday July 5, 2018 just after 12:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a Break and Enter to a residence on Charing Cross Street.  An unknown male was seen by a neighbour trying to break into the residence.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area and searched for the male.  The male had fled the area prior to police arrival.  Investigation revealed damage to the front door however the residence was not entered and nothing had been taken.

Incident: On Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 just after 5:00 p.m., Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on Clarence Street regarding a shoplifting incident.  An unknown female had been seen concealing various items in her purse and then left the store without making any attempts to pay for them.  The loss prevention officer had arrested the female for shoplifting; however she was trying to flee from the store and was becoming aggressive.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the store where the female was arrested without incident.  During the arrest the accused was found to be in possession of a number of controlled substances including:

?        4 pills ? Xanax 2mg; with a street value of $20.00
?        9 pills ? Hydromorphone Contin 4mg; street value of $45.00
?        32 pills ? Hydromorphone Contin 3mg; street value of $96.00
?        22 packages of marijuana resin 1mg each; street value of $660.00
?        9.42 grams of crack cocaine; street value of $942.00
?        11.2 grams of Fentanyl; street value of $2800.00
?        58.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine: street value of $8715.00

 Information received was that the accused was also currently bound by court order with conditions.  A 28 year old Brantford female is charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code.  She is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Schedule I Substance x5, Possession for the purpose of Trafficking in Schedule II Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Schedule IV Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident: On Thursday July 5, 2018 just after 1:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a Motel on Colborne Street.  The victim reported that two unknown males had just broken into his room and had stolen a number of items.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they searched for the two suspects who had fled.  Officers through investigation were able to identify and locate the two accused that were in possession of the stolen property.  Accused #1 is a 23 year old Brantford male who is charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 and Break, Enter and Commit under the Criminal Code.  Accused #2 is a 47 year old Brantford male who is charged with Theft Under $5000, Break, Enter and Commit, Obstruct Police and Breach of Probation.
