Incident:On Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at approximately 7am the Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call at a pharmacy on Colborne Street regarding a robbery. An unknown male and female attended into the pharmacy brandished an axe and a knife and took a large quantity of prescription medication. Staff and customers were unharmed. The suspects left the pharmacy on foot, hailed a taxi and fled the area. The suspects took the taxi to the area of Salisbury Ave and Pontiac Street where they fled the taxi without paying. Community Patrol Officers attended to and searched the area for the suspects. While dealing with the accused, the male provided a false name. The female was found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl ($600 street value).

 The officers were able to located and arrest the two accused without incident.  Officers were able to recover items taken from the pharmacy and the weapons used.

As a result of the investigation, a 36 year old male from Hagersville is charged with: robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property over $5,000, transportation fraud, obstruct police and breach of probation under the Criminal Code. 

A 33 year old female from Brantford is charged with: robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and transportation fraud under the Criminal Code. She is further charged with possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Incident:On Wednesday, February 19, 2020 just after 2 am Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call at an establishment on Colborne Street East regarding a male causing a disturbance. A male was inside the establishment where he was yelling, swearing, causing a disturbance and threatened to physically harm staff with a broken beer bottle. Community Patrol Officers attended to where they located and arrested the male outside the establishment without incident. While being transported, the accused went into medical distress. Officers stopped and immediately rendered medical assistance, including CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibulator. Emergency Medical Services were contacted, attended and transported the male to hospital for further treatment.

As a result of the investigation, a 52 year old male from Brantford has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and cause a disturbance.
