Incident:  On Thursday May 2, 2019 just after 7:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service were conducting a R.I.D.E Program on Colborne Street West.  A male driver entered into the R.I.D.E Program where he was spoken to by Officers.  While speaking to the driver Officers observed signs of impairment and beer cans could be seen inside the vehicle.  The driver was given a roadside screening device demand.  The driver registered a fail on the roadside screening device and was arrested.  The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were over the legal limit.  A 40 year old Brantford male has been charged with 80 Plus under the Criminal Code.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Incident:   On Wednesday May 1, 2019 just before 11:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Clarence Street.  Information was received that the licence plate attached to the vehicle was not for that vehicle.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver.  The driver was unable to provide a drivers licence or any documents for the vehicle.  The driver provided a name however investigation revealed that the name provided was false.  The driver was arrested without incident.  While dealing with the accused an amount of suspected cocaine ($1500 value) was located in the vehicle.  As a result of the investigation a 38 year old Hagersville male has been charged with Obstruct Police under the Criminal Code and Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  He is further charged with Driver Fail to Surrender Licence, Use Plates Not Authorized for Vehicle and Fail to Surrender Permit for Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act as well as Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Location:  Morrell Street
Incident:  On Thursday May 2, 2019 at approximately 5:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a call about a suspicious male around a construction site on Morrell Street.  The unknown male was seen taking items from the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended and searched for the male.  The male was located a short distance away and was found to be in possession of copper pipes stolen from the construction site.  A 35 year old Brantford male has been charged with Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 under the Criminal Code.
