NOTICE OF POLICE ACT HEARINGS
Police Officers in Ontario are governed under the Police Services Act (PSA) of Ontario. This act will be replaced on April 1, 2024, with the Community safety & Policing Act (CSPA).
When misconduct arises, officers may face discipline under the PSA and a Hearing may be held before a Hearing Officer.
The discipline process for matters that occurred prior to April 1, 2024, will remain under the Police Services Act.
Police Act Hearings are open to the public. No photos or videos can be taken of the proceedings without the authorization of a Court Order.
