BPS Arrest Brantford Male for Drug Trafficking
Incident # 21-4074
On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at approximately 10:24 p.m. community patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Gladstone Avenue. Investigation by the officers revealed that a male, who was observed exiting the vehicle, was bound by conditions through an Undertaking to not attend this location.
Brantford police attended to the accused and subsequently placed him under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed the following:
- 34.1 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl (blue) - which has an estimated street value of $8,525
- 9.37 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl (green) - which has an estimated street value of $2,342
- 6.94 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl (yellow) - which has an estimated street value of $1,735
- 4.08 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl (purple/yellow) - which has an estimated street value of $1,020
- 4.26 grams (approx.) of suspected Methamphetamine - which has an estimated street value of $639
- 67 pills (approx.) of suspected Hydromorphone - which has an estimated street value of $1,005
- 19.4 grams (approx.) of suspected Hashish - which has an estimated street value of $388
- 78 grams (approx.) of suspected dried Cannabis flower - which has an estimated street value of $780
- Various product infused with (suspected) Tetrahydrocannabinol with an unknown street value
- Drug paraphernalia commonly used by drug traffickers (scale, phone, dime bags)
Additionally, several identification cards were located concealed on the accused which investigation revealed belonged to a victim who recently had her wallet stolen.
As a result of the investigation, a 40 year-old male from Brantford stands charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking – contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act x 3
- Possession of Stolen Goods Under $5000 – contrary to the Criminal Code
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking – contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession for the Purpose of Distribution – contrary to the Cannabis Act
- Possession of over 30g Dried Cannabis – contrary to the Cannabis Act
The accused has been held for a bail hearing.
