Inc. # 21-14414

The Brantford Police Service are investigating an allegation of an inappropriate relationship occurring between a teacher and student at a local high school.

Officers were made aware of the allegations in April 2021.

The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit are actively investigating the offences, which were alleged to have occurred over two decades ago.

Investigators formed grounds to charge an accused with two counts of sexual exploitation and two counts of sexual assault.  The accused was still teaching with a local school board, but has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the court proceedings.

Police are not releasing any further details at this time, including the ages or gender of the accused, in order to protect the identity of the victim.
