Incident:            22-11747
Location:           House Avenue

On Monday, March 28, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a suspicious vehicle travelling south bound on House Avenue with unauthorized license plates.

Police conducted a traffic stop and placed the driver under arrest.

Search incident to arrest located approximately 22.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.3 grams of suspected fentanyl and 3.1 grams of suspected cocaine. The total street value of the illicit drugs was estimated at $4,097.

Investigation revealed that the accused was operating the vehicle without insurance and was a suspended driver.

As a result, Jason Kenneth James WALKER, 36, from Simcoe, stands charged with the following:
  • Possession for the purpose x 3, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Permit use of plate not authorized for motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

Location:           Dalhousie Street

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a dispute involving an axe at a Dalhousie Street location.

It was reported that an argument occurred between the victims, a 42-year-old female and a 19-year-old male, and the accused, a 31-year-old man. During the dispute, it is alleged that the accused left for a short period of time and then returned with an axe and threatened the victims.

Officers attended and located the accused who was arrested without incident. Officers also located and seized the axe.

As a result of the investigation, the accused, Johnathan Gordon ROBINSON, 31, of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession weapon dangerous purpose

Incident:            22-11451 / 22-11343
Location:           Metcalfe Crescent / George Street

On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a weapons related call at a George Street residence and a location on Metcalfe Crescent. 

It was reported that two men attended a residence on George Street where they allegedly displayed and threatened an 18-year-old female and a 19-year-old female with a firearm after being asked to leave.

The two men left the residence and travelled to a Metcalfe Crescent residence. Once inside the residence, they are reported to have engaged in a verbal dispute with an 18-year-old man. It is alleged that the two accused then threatened the man, pointing the firearm at the victim.  

The two accused men then departed the male victim's residence.
No physical injuries were reported from any of the victims.

As a result of the investigation, Angelo William ROSE, 19, of Brantford, was arrested and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Point firearm 
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm 
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm 
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm 
  • Transferring firearm 
  • Handle firearm 
  • Intimidation - use violence 
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose 
The second accused, Michael Donald ROSE, 18, of Brantford, was arrested and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Unauthorized possession of firearm 
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm 
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm 
  • Transferring firearm 
  • Handle firearm 
  • Intimidation - use violence 
  • Utter threats to cause bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose 
 

  
Type:                   Impaired - Alcohol
Incident:            22-11395 
Location:           Colborne Street West and Oak Street

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, officers with the Brantford Police Service received a call from a concerned citizen to advise of a possible impaired driver in the area of Shellard Lane and Diana Avenue.
The vehicle was observed swerving between lanes and passengers were throwing items out of the moving vehicle.

Officers attended and located the vehicle at the intersection of Colborne Street West and Oak Street where a traffic stop was initiated. A male driver and two female passengers were observed within the vehicle. 

Speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. Subsequently, the driver was arrested for impaired operation and submitted to a roadside breathalyzer test demand, which he failed.   

The accused was transported to provide samples of his breath as required by law. Both samples were over the legal limit.

Information received indicated the accused was a prohibited driver and in violation of a valid probation order.

As a result, a 25-year-old man from Burlington stands charged with the following:
  • Operation while impaired, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Operation while impaired - plus 80, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Breach of probation, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Drive while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

Incident:            22-11372
Location:           Dalhousie Street

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a call for service regarding a suspicious male at a Dalhousie Street location. 
Police attended, located, and arrested the accused as it was determined he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. 
Search incident to arrest located approximately 6.6 grams of suspected Fentanyl in possession of the accused.
As a result, a 31-year-old man of Brantford (no fixed address), was charged with possession of a substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. 
 


Type:                   Impaired- Alcohol
Incident:            22-11357
Location:           Wayne Gretzky Parkway 

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a 911 call advising of a two-vehicle collision on Wayne Gretzky Parkway, north of Colborne Street. 
Police attended, and in speaking with the driver of one of the involved vehicles, observed signs of impairment.
The driver submitted to a roadside breathalyzer test demand, which she failed. The accused was then placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to provide samples of her breath as required by law. 
While at the station, the accused refused to provide a suitable breath sample. As a result, a 40-year-old woman from Norwich was charged with Refusal to Comply with Demand under the Criminal Code. 
 


Type:                   Car Fire / Stolen Vehicle

Location:           Governors Road East and Park Road North

On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a car fire in the area of Park Road North and Governors Road East.

Officers arrived on scene and observed members of the Brantford Fire Department extinguishing the fire.
Police investigation determined the vehicle had been previously reported as stolen from a neighbouring jurisdiction. 
This investigation is ongoing.

Location:           Adams Boulevard

On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a location on Adams Boulevard regarding a break and enter in progress. 
A man and woman were observed by a witness entering a fenced-in area and stealing metal before attempting the flee the area in a vehicle.
Officers attended and located the vehicle nearby. The metal pieces were observed in the back seat. Police arrested both parties. 
As a result of this investigation, a 48-year-old male of Brantford (no fixed address) and a 47-year-old female of Brantford, stand charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Break and entering 
  • Possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5000
