Type:               Assault
Incident:       22-48220
Location:      Market Street South

On Thursday, November 24, 2022, at approximately 3:00 P.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a report of an assault that had occurred at a Market Street South location.

Investigation revealed that the accused female initiated a verbal altercation with the victim while on foot within the parking lot located at Market Street South.

As the victim attempted to remove herself from the situation, the accused is alleged to have struck the victim in the face before shouting profanities and hate speech.

As a result, the accused, a 38-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations: 
  • Assault 
  • Public Incitement of Hatred 
 


Type:               Mischief
Incident:       22-47890
Location:      Queen Street

On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at approximately 8:45 A.M., officers were dispatched to attend a mischief related call at a Queen Street location.

Investigation revealed that a man defecated in a stairwell outside a Queen Street residence.

Officers attended, located the suspect, who was arrested without incident.

As a result of this incident, a 39-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code.

Location:      Market Street

On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at approximately 9:30 A.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Market Street and Dalhousie Street for a weapon related call.

A report was received to indicate that a verbal confrontation occurred between two men and escalated with the accused threatening violence and brandishing a firearm.

Officers attended the scene and located the accused nearby. The accused was arrested without incident. Search incident to arrest located the weapon, determined to be a pellet gun.

Additionally, information was received to indicate that the accused was in violation of a valid release order.

As a result, a 37-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
  • Possession of Weapons for Dangerous Purpose 
  • Assault with a Weapon 
  • Failure to comply with Judicial Release (Release Order) 
The accused was held for bail. 
 


Type:              Break and Enter
Incident:       22-47625
Location:      Allenby Avenue

On Sunday, November 20, 2022, at approximately 3:15 A.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of a break and enter that occurred at a residence located on Allenby Drive.

Police were advised that a man allegedly broke a window and gained entry to the home.

Residents were home at the time of the incident and called 911 for help. Officers attended, located the man in the home. 

The accused was arrested without incident and held in custody pending a show-cause hearing. 

Search incident to arrest located a quantity of illegal prescription drugs in his possession.

No physical injuries were sustained by the residents.

As a result of the incident, a 36-year-old man from Toronto stands charged with the following:
  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule 1 - Other Drugs contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
 

 
Type:               Impaired
Incident:       22-47624
Location:      Clarence Street

On Friday, November 20, 2022, at approximately 3:00 A.M., hours, patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a motor vehicle travelling northbound on Clarence Street, towards the intersection of Dalhousie Street at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was observed by officers, failing to stop for a red light at the intersection.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and when speaking with the accused, observed signs of impairment.

Roadside breath testing was conducted, which the accused failed.

The accused was subsequently arrested and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over the legal limit.
Information provided found the accused to be in violation of the terms of his G2 driver’s licence.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following: 
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration, contrary to the Criminal Code 
  • Novice Driver - B.A.C. Above Zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act 
  • Red Light - Fail To Stop, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act 

Additionally, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s licence of the accused, suspended.
