Type:              Impaired
Incident:      22-41111
Location:     Brantwood Park Road

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 9:30 A.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Brantwood Park Road and Ponytail Drive regarding a possible impaired driver.

Officers attended, located the vehicle and the accused.

Speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of impairment. 

The accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples were over the legal limit.

As a result, a 40-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
  • Operation while impaired- Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 
Additionally, the driver’s licence of the accused was suspended, and the vehicle impounded.
 


Type:              Fraud
Incident:      22-41044
Location:     Colborne Street

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 3:00 P.M., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a report related to an attempted fraud at a financial institution located on Colborne Street.

It was reported that the accused had allegedly attempted to open a bank account using fraudulent identity documents. 

Officers attended and arrested the accused without incident.

Additionally, it was determined that the accused was in violation of a valid police undertaking.

As a result of this investigation, a 27-year-old female from Pickering stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
  • Identity Fraud 
  • Fraud Under $5000 
  • Possession of Identity Document x 3
  • Failure to comply with Undertaking 

The accused was held for a bail hearing 
 


Type:            Weapons
Incident:     22-40703
Location:     Superior Street

On Monday, October 3, 2022, at approximately 2:30 P.M., officer with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a weapons related call in the area of Superior Street.

It was reported that a verbal dispute between two women escalated when one threatened the other with a small knife.

The accused then dropped the knife and fled the area on foot. No physical injuries were sustained. 

Officers attended and located the accused at a nearby location where she was arrested.

The knife was located and recovered by Brantford police. 

As a result of this investigation, a 26-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 
  • Assault with a Weapon
