Four Firearms Recovered After Investigation at Alice Street Residence

Brantford Police have recovered four firearms after an investigation at a residence on Alice Street.

On Saturday November 2, 2019 at approximately 12:45 p.m. Brantford Police Service attended along with Emergency Medical Services to a residence on Alice Street in regards to a male who was suffering from a possible drug overdose.  A 47 year old Brantford male was found in medical distress and was transported to hospital in critical condition.  He later passed away due to his medical condition.  The investigation into the death of the male is being handled through the coroner’s office.  Three individuals resided at the residence at the time of the incident.  During the investigation a number of firearms along with ammunition were visibly seen inside the residence.  The firearms were not stored properly and were readily accessible. 

Brantford Police Service Street Crime Unit and Task Force continued to investigate this incident and a search warrant was granted and conducted at the residence.  During the investigation Police located and seized two rifles (one modified, one not displayed in picture), shotguns x2, stock and 2 barrels along with 725 various rounds of ammunition and 5 magazine cartridges.  Police also located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine (street value $1000).

As a result of the investigation a 24 year old Brantford male and a 19 year old Branford female have been charged with:

1)      Contravention of storage regulations Sec 86(1) CCC x5
2)      Unauthorized possession of firearm Sec 91(1) CCC x4
3)      Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized Sec 92(1)(a)
          CCC x4
4)      Tampering with serial number Sec 108(1) CCC x1
