Street Crime Unit Arrest and Weapons Charges

Saturday, February 6, 2021, members of the Brantford Police Street Crime Unit
entered into an investigation after the attempted sale of a firearm through an
online platform. The investigation led to the seizure of a .22 Caliber Rifle,
ammunition and other weapons during the execution of a search warrant at a
residence located near Grey Street and Lynden Avenue.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old-male from Brantford has been arrested and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:

- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Weapons trafficking
- Possession of firearm for purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with release order –Police issued release
- Careless use or storage of a firearm, weapon, ammunition
