BPS Continue to Investigate Train Fatality

BPS would like to advise the public that the deceased male has now been identified. Police will not be releasing the identity of this individual out of respect for the family.
 
As the investigation continues, police are looking to hear from anyone who may have information or happened to be in the vicinity of the rail tracks at Usher Street between the hours of 11:00 pm Saturday, November 7, 2020 and 10:30 am Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Original Release - November 8, 2020

Just before 10:30 a.m. this morning Brantford Police responded along with fire and ambulance to the area of the CN rail tracks on Usher Street, Brantford for a report of an individual struck by a train.  

Upon arrival, a male was located and pronounced deceased at the scene.  The Brantford Police traffic section and Criminal Investigation Section are currently working with CN Police to investigate the incident and anticipate being on scene for the next few hours.  

Police have yet to identify the individual at this time and have no additional information.

A follow up media release will be made available once more information is known.  Police ask that members of the public stay out of the area at this time.
