BPS Homicide Investigation
On Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 police responded to a Mintern Avenue residence to conduct a wellbeing check on a female occupant. Upon arrival, police located 37 year old, Shannon MacDougall deceased inside of the residence.
Police worked alongside the Coroner’s office and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service to help determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
As a result of the investigation, police are treating the death of Shannon MacDougall as a homicide.
To protect the integrity of the investigation, a media release was not distributed earlier due to the manner in which police received the information.
Members of the Major Crime section continue to investigate and are seeking help from anyone who may have information on the actions of Shannon in the days prior to March 11, 2020.
Police do not believe that this was a random incident.
No arrests have been made at this time.
