Type:  Break and Enter - Arrest
Incident: 18-49739
Location: Woodlawn Ave      
Incident: On Monday December 17, 2018 just before 12:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a Break and Enter to a residence on Woodlawn Ave.  The owner of the residence had returned home and found that the rear door had been forced open.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence.  While searching and securing the residence a male party was located inside and arrested.  In dealing with the male it was discovered that he was currently bound by a court order with conditions, as well he was found in possession of a credit card that had previously been reported stolen to police.  A 24 year old Brantford male has been charged with Unlawfully In A Dwelling House, Possession of Stolen Credit Card and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: King George Road
Incident:  On Sunday December 16, 2018 just after 2:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance at a business on King George Road.  Two males had gotten into a verbal altercation with two other males that became physical.  When staff attempted to intervene, they were confronted and assaulted.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the business where they located the parties involved.  As a result of the investigation two males have been charged, the three victims received non-life threatening injuries.  A 31 year old Brantford male and a 40 year old Brantford male have both been charged with assault.

Location: Dalhousie Street
Incident:  On Sunday December 16, 2018 just after 6:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received several 9-1-1 calls from an unknown male.  The male had contacted the emergency line on several occasions; however he was not in need of emergency services and was asked to contact police on the regular administration line in order to free the emergency line for potential emergency situations.  The male became upset and began to threaten the 9-1-1 operator.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located and arrested the male without incident.  Information was received that the accused was currently bound by a number of court orders with conditions.  A 37 year old Brantford male has been charged with Common Nuisance – Misuse of 9-1-1 Emergency Line, Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.
 
Type: Shoplifting

Location: King George Road
Incident:  On Saturday December 16, 2018 just before 8:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a theft from a business on King George Road.  An unknown female had been seen by employees concealing items in her purse and then exited the store without making any attempts to pay for the items.  The female was confronted by staff and she fled the area on foot.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located and arrested the female a short distance away without incident.  Investigation revealed that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions. A 32 year old Brantford woman is charged with Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 and Breach of Probation.

Location: Wayne Gretzky Parkway
Incident:  On Friday December 14, 2018 just after 8:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a vehicle that was stopped and blocking the right lane of traffic on Wayne Gretzky Parkway.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the vehicle.  Officers located a male driver asleep at the wheel of the vehicle.  After several attempts Officers were able to wake and speak to the driver.  While speaking to the male driver Officers observed signs of impairment and could smell the odour of burnt marihuana.  The accused was arrested and while dealing with the male Officers located a set of brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia and suspected cocaine (over 10 grams - street value over $1000).  The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was given a Drug Recognition Evaluation Demand and Evaluation.  As a result of the evaluation the accused was charged with Care and Control of Motor Vehicle while Impaired.   A 23 year old Brantford male is charged with Care and Control of Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon under the Criminal Code.  The accused is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The accused licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  

Type: Impaired - Alcohol

Location: Elgin Street at Clarence Street
Incident:  On Friday December 14, 2018 just after 11:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a vehicle that was stopped in a live lane of traffic on Paris Road.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the vehicle.  Officers attended to the vehicle where they located the male driver slumped over and sleeping against the steering wheel with the vehicle still running.  While speaking with the driver he showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  The driver was transported to the Brantford Police Service in order to provide two samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused’s samples were over the legal limit.  Investigation revealed that the accused was to only operate vehicles equipped with an Ignition Interlock System.  A 48 year old Burford male is charged with Care and Control of Motor Vehicle while Impaired and Operate Motor Vehicle – Over 80 under the Criminal Code.  The accused was also charged with Drive Without Device under the Highway Traffic Act.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
