Type:  Stolen Vehicle and Firearm Offences  
Incident: 19-06102
Location: Colborne Street        
Incident: On Sunday February 17, 2019 just before 11:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a motel on Colborne Street.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen and that a male had been seen operating the vehicle.  Officers investigated the stolen vehicle and identified the male as being wanted on an outstanding warrant.  During the investigation a male was seen fleeing the area and was arrested without incident.  Further investigation revealed that the accused had in his possession identification that had been previously reported stolen.   Located in the stolen vehicle was a break action shot gun that had been modified by having the barrel length shortened and more stolen identification and documents.  As a result of the investigation a 32 year old Brantford male has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, Careless Storage of Firearm, Possession of Weapons Dangerous, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 x7 and Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code.  He is further charged with Drive While Under Suspension x2 under the Highway Traffic Act.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.
 
 
Type: Break and Enter - Arrest
Incident: 19-6186
Location: Rowanwood Ave     
Incident:  On Monday February 18, 2018 just after 4:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received 9-1-1 call about a Break and Enter at a business on Rowanwood Ave.  An unknown male was seen climbing over the fence to a business and was going through property inside the fenced compound.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the male as he was climbing back over the fence.  The male was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed that the male was attempting to steal scrape metal from the business and was found to be in possession of break in instruments.  Further investigation revealed that the accused was also currently wanted in regards to a shoplifting incident that occurred at a business on Friday February 15, 2019.  As a result of the investigation a 43 year old Brantford male has been charged with Break, Enter and Commit and Possession of Break-In Instruments and Theft Under $5000 under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.                            
    
Type: Break and Enter – Arrest  
Incident: 19-06077
Location: Morrell Street      
Incident: On Sunday February 17, 2019 just after 3:00 a.m. the Brantford Police Service received a 91-1- call about a break and enter on Morrell Street.  An unknown male was seen entering a building that was under construction.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the male.  The male fled the area on foot but was arrested without incident a short distance away.  While dealing with the accused he provided false information to Police.  Investigation revealed that the accused was currently wanted on two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  A 46 year old Brantford male was arrested on the outstanding warrants and has been charged with Break, Enter and Commit and Obstruct Police.

Incident: 19-06074
Location: Dalhousie Street      
Incident: On Sunday February 17, 2019 just before 2:00 a.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Dalhousie Street.  Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver.  Upon speaking to the driver Officers observed signs of intoxication.  The driver was given a demand for a Roadside screening device.  The driver performed the roadside screening device and registered a fail.  The driver was arrested and taken to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide sample of his breath as required by law.  The driver’s samples were over the legal limit.  A 27 year old Brantford male has been charged with Operation While Impaired.  The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
