Type:  Impaired Driver - Alcohol
Incident: 19-00740
Location: Johnson Road      
Incident:  On Sunday January 6, 2019 just before 7:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Johnson Road.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle.  The vehicle was observed pulling into the driveway to a residence on Johnson Road; the female driver was seen getting out of the vehicle where she left the vehicle running and the driver’s door open as she went towards the residence.  Officers spoke to the female driver who showed signs of impairment and was arrested.  The driver was transported to the Brantford Police Service where she was to provide samples of her breath as required by law.  The accused readings were over the legal the limit.  A 31 year old Paris woman is charged with Impaired Driving – Alcohol and Blow Over 80 under the Criminal Code.  The accused drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Superior Street      
Incident: On Sunday January 6, 2019 just before 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a possible impaired driver on Superior Street.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle parked in the driveway at a residence on Superior Street.  Officers attended to the vehicle where they located a male sleeping in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition.  An empty bottle of alcohol was found lying on the ground outside the driver’s door.  Officers were able to wake and speak to the male who showed signs of impairment.  The male was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where he was to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The male refused to provide samples.  As a result of the investigation a 59 year old Brantford male has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Refusal to Comply with Demand under the Criminal Code.  The accused drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Ontario Street      
Incident: On Sunday January 6, 2019 just after 7:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 about an assault at an address on Ontario Street.  The victim a 24 year old female had been confronted outside her residence by the two accused and a verbal argument ensued.  The argument turned physical and the victim was assaulted by the two accused who knocked her to the ground and began to punch her.  The victim was able to get away and ran to her residence.  Accused #1 chased after her and forced open the door to the residence where she grabbed that victim s cell phone and smashed it.  Accused #1 and accused #2 then continued to assault the victim before leaving the residence.  The victim who received non-life threatening injures was able to call police for assistance.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located and arrested the accused without incident. Accused #1 a 28 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault, Break Enter and Commit and Mischief to Property Under $5000.00 x2.  Accused #2 a 22 year old Brantford woman is charged with Assault.

Location: Eagle Ave      
Incident: On Monday January 7, 2019 just after 9:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about damage to a motor vehicle on Eagle Ave.  Community Patrol Offices attended and spoke to the owner of the vehicle who advised that the vehicle had been broken into and damaged and that items were stolen out of the vehicle including identification, banking and credit cards.  A short time later the victim received information that his stolen credit cards had been used at a local business.  Officers attended the business where they located and arrested the accused without incident.  While dealing with the accused he was found to be in possession of the stolen banking and credit cards.  Investigation revealed that the accused had made four separated transactions at four separate businesses using the stolen credit cards.  A 30 year old Brantford male has been charged with Fraud Under $5000.00 x4, Use Stolen Credit Card x4, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00 and Possess Break-In Instruments under the Criminal Code.
