Incident: On Thursday July 19th, 2018 just after 11:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Brant Ave.  Information had been received that the driver?s licence was currently suspended.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which failed to stop and fled from police.  The vehicle was last seen heading down Grand River Ave.  Officers were in the area and observed the vehicle pull into an address on Grand River Ave where the male driver fled on foot.  Officers attended to the area where the male was located and arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle contained 475.89 grams of marihuana (valued $9518.00).  A 42 year old Brantford male is charged with Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and Flight from Police under the Criminal Code.  He is also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, along with Drive while under suspension x3 under the Highway Traffic Act.

Incident: On Thursday July 19, 2018 just after 1:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a business on St Paul Ave.  An unknown male had just stolen a number of items from the store and had fled the area on foot.  Information was received that the male had been in the store where he selected a number of items and concealed them in a backpack.  The male left the store without making any attempts to pay for the items.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the suspect male a short distance away.  As officers attempted to arrest the male he fled on foot.  After a short foot pursuit the male was arrested without incident.  Investigation revealed the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 34 year old Brantford male is charged with Breach of Probation, Escape Lawful Custody and Theft Under $5000.00 of the Criminal Code.
