Type: Escapee Arrested
Incident: 17- 20650
Incident: On June 7, 2017 at 7:25 p.m. David GOYIT who had been wanted for escape custody was arrested. Community Patrol Officers attended at an address on Sixth Avenue after receiving information that GOYIT was possibly inside the home.  GOYIT was arrested without incident. Found in GOYIT?s pocket was a small piece of the leg iron which had originally been secured to his ankles. David GOYIT, 33 years of age of Brantford is charged with Escape Custody and Breach of Probation X2.  The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Type: Break and Enter - Residential 
Incident: 17- 20971
Location: Frank Street
Incident: On June 7, 2017 a home owner reported that some time overnight a rear shed was entered. Suspect(s) broke a lock and entered a backyard shed. Stolen from the shed was a black Trek3 mountain bike. 
                         
Type: Motor Vehicle Collision 
Incident: 17- 21010
Location: Port Street at Erie Avenue
Incident: On June 7, 2017 at approximately 7:40 p.m. two vehicles were involved in a motor vehicle collision. A black Mazda was travelling southbound on Erie Avenue when it was struck by a red Honda. The driver of the Honda had originally stopped at a stop sign on Port Street and then preceded west bound into the intersection. On impact the Honda flipped over on its hood. No persons were injured. The driver of the Honda, a 20 year old Brantford man was charged with Fail to Yield to traffic under the Highway Traffic Act.

                         
Type: Domestic Assault 
Incident: 17- 20996
Incident: On June 7, 2017 at around 5:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers attended an apartment complex in Brantford after receiving a 911 call from a female advising she was assaulted by her husband (accused). Information was also received that the accused was intoxicated, in possession of a kitchen knife and acting aggressive by stabbing a table in the home. Officers were told that the male had left the apartment as they were arriving at the building. Officers located the accused in the hallway out front of his apartment door. The accused had a six inch knife in his hand and refused to drop it. Officers spoke with the accused with attempts to de-escalate the situation. The accused was intoxicated and was stumbling and pacing while in the hallway. Officers continued to speak with the accused directing him to drop the knife however he refused to listen to the officers. The accused then reached for the door handle to his apartment where the victim was inside.  An officer deployed his CEW (conducted energy weapon) and made contact with the accused person. The accused fell to the ground, dropping the knife and the officers gained control of the accused and handcuffed him. The accused, a 57 year old Brantford man was arrested and stands charged with Assault and Possession of Weapons Dangerous.
