Location:  St Paul Ave
Incident:   On Saturday May 25, 2019 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a Break and Enter to a business on Colborne Street.  An unknown suspect had forced open the front door and gained access to the business.  Once inside the suspect smashed open display cases and took a number of items before fleeing the store.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the scene where they located a trail of items leading away from the store.  Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  Through investigation into this break and enter a suspect was identified.  On Tuesday May 28, 2019 just after 6:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed the male suspect at a business on St Paul Ave.  Officers located and arrested the accused inside the store.  While dealing with the accused he was found to be in possession of Break-In instruments as well as identification and bank cards belonging to other individuals that had previously been reported stolen.  Information was also received that the accused was currently bound by eight court orders.  As a result of the investigations, a 30 year old Brantford male has been charged with Break, Enter and Commit and Breach of Recognizance for the incident on May 25, 2019.  He has further been charged with Possession of Break-In Instruments, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x2, Possession of Credit Card x2, Possession of Identity Documents and Fail to Comply with Recognizance under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Incident:  On Thursday May 23, 2019 just before 3:00 p.m. The Brantford Police Service Street Crime Unit was conducting an investigation in the area of William Street and Richmond Street.  While conducting their investigation Officers observed a vehicle park in the area which was occupied by two males.  The driver was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  Officers were able to arrest the accused without incident. While dealing with the accused he was found to be in possession of a large sum of Canadian Currency along with suspected Fentanyl, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine and Crystal Methamphetamine (approx. value $6300.00).  The passenger of the vehicle was also arrested without incident.  Information was received that both accused were currently bound by court orders with conditions and the driver was currently a Prohibited driver for life.   Officers continued the investigation and in searching the vehicle found approximately $3600 worth of suspected cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl.  As a result of the investigation Goran Nejat Kakamad a 22 year old Hamilton male was arrested on the outstanding warrant and has been further charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.  He is further charged with Operation while Prohibited x 5 and Breach of Probation x 2 under the Criminal Code.  The second accused, Ismail Daud Patel a 20 year old Hamilton male is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x4 under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act and Breach of Probation x 2 under the Criminal Code.

Location:  Peel Street
Incident: On Friday May 24, 2019 at approximately 11:25 p.m. Community Patrol Officers were conducting an investigation in the area of Peel Street and Chatham Street.  While in the area Officers observed a vehicle back into and strike a parked vehicle and then attempt to drive away.  Officers blocked the vehicle from leaving the area and spoke to the female driver.  While speaking to the driver Officers observed signs of impairment.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Branford Police Service where she was to provide samples of her breath as required by law.  The accused samples were over two times the legal limit.  As a result of the investigation a 50 year old Brantford woman is charged with Operation While Impaired and 80 Plus under the Criminal Code.  Her drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Incident:  On Thursday May 23, 2019 just before 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about an assault.  A taxi driver had driven a fare to a residence on Glenwood Drive.  The driver exited the vehicle to assist the male out of the vehicle.  When he did the passenger refused to pay and began a confrontation with the driver.  The suspect began to push and confront the driver.  The driver got back into the vehicle and attempted to secure the door.  The suspect tried to grab the driver and began to punch the driver’s window.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the scene where they located and arrested the accused without incident.  A 56 year old Brantford male has been charged with Assault and Transportation Fraud.
