Type:   Impaired – Alcohol

Location:  Clarence Street  
Incident:  On Tuesday October 29, 2019 just after 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Clarence Street near Colborne Street.  Two vehicles had been involved in a minor collision with no injuries.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the scene where they located the collision and spoke to the drivers involved.  While speaking to the one driver Officers observed signs of impairment.  The male driver was given a demand for roadside screening device.  The driver failed the roadside screening device and was arrested.  The accused was transported in order to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were over the legal limit.  As a result of the investigation a 21 year old Brantford male is charged with 80 plus under the Criminal Code.  The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location:  King George Road  
Incident:  On Saturday October 26, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call regarding a possible impaired driver on King George Road.  A vehicle was stopped on the 403 overpass on King George Road with damage to the front end and a flat tire that had shredded down to the rim.  A male driver was seen in the vehicle.  Community patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the vehicle and the driver and observed an open can of beer in the centre consul of the vehicle.   While dealing with the driver Officers observed signs of impairment.  The driver was arrested and transported in order to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were over 3X the legal limit.  As a result of the investigation a 25 year old Brantford male has been charged with Impaired Operati0on and 80 Plus under the Criminal Code.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location:   Mary Street  
Incident: On Sunday October 27, 2019 just after 6:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a Break and Enter.  An unknown male was seen breaking into a vacant house that was under construction on Mary Street.  Community patrol Officers attended to the residence where they located and arrested the male in the basement.   Investigation revealed that the accused had forcefully broken into the residence through the rear door.  While inside he began to remove copper piping and in process damaged other property in the residence.  While dealing with the accused he was found to be in possession of break-in instruments and it was discovered that he was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 39 year old Brantford male has been charged with Break, Enter and Commit, Mischief to Property Under $5000, Theft Under $5000, Possession of Break-In Instruments and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.
