Location:   St George Street  
Incident:  On Monday November 4, 2019 just after 3:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision on St George Street and Grand Street.  A pick-up truck had been observed on St George Street when it hit and knocked over the stop sign at the intersection and then left the scene.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the suspect vehicle being operate a short distance away.  Officers were able to stop the vehicle and spoke to the male driver.  While speaking to the driver Officers observed signs of impairment and the driver was arrested.  The driver was given a demand for a Drug Recognition Evaluation.  As a result of the evaluation the driver was charged with a number of Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Offences.  A 47 year old Brantford male has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Fail To Stop at Accident under the Criminal Code.  He is further charged with Careless Driving and Driver – Fail To Surrender Licence under the Highway Traffic Act and Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.  The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location:  Memorial Drive  
Incident:  On Sunday November 3, 2019 just after 2:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a possible impaired driver on Memorial Drive.  Community Patrol Officers responded to the area where they located the vehicle.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  While dealing with the driver Officers observed signs of impairment and a bottle of alcohol was observed in the vehicle.  The driver was given a demand for a roadside screening device.  The driver failed the roadside screening device and was arrested.  The driver was transported in order to provide samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were 2X the legal limit.  A 22 year old Brantford male has been charged with 80 Plus under the Criminal Code.  His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location:  Colborne Street West at Oak Street  
Incident:  On Friday November 1, 2019 just before 2:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Colborne Street West at Oak Street.  A male driver had been travelling eastbound on Colborne Street West when he suffered from medical distress and swerved off the road striking a tree.   The driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the collision scene and to the hospital where they spoke to the driver.  While dealing with the driver he provided false information to police about his identity.  Investigation revealed that the driver was currently wanted on two outstanding warrants for his arrest; he was currently bound by eight court orders with conditions and was currently a suspended driver.  The driver was also found to be in possession of suspected Fentanyl ($200 street value).  As a result of the investigation a 21 year old Brantford male was arrested on the outstanding warrants and is charged with Obstruct Police, Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code.  He is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Drive While Under Suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
