Type:  Attempt Theft Motor Vehicle
Location: Melbourne Cres
Incident: On December 19, 2017 sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. unknown person(s) attempted to steal a vehicle parked on Melbourne Cres. The steering column was damaged, and a small bag containing a piece of metal was left behind.  

Type:  Theft of Motor Vehicle
Incident: 17-48378
Location: Linden Avenue
Incident: On December 19, 2017 at around 9:45 a.m. a vehicle was left running with the keys in the ignition near the Linden Convenience store located on Linden Avenue. The vehicle, a 2006 Pontiac G6 was then stolen by an unknown male suspect wearing dark clothes and a hood.    Protect your vehicle from theft. Always roll up your windows, lock your doors and pocket the keys when you park your vehicle. Never leave valuables in plain view and never leave your vehicle running unattended for any length of time.
The vehicle and suspect were captured on surveillance.


Several hours later the suspect attended a gas station in Milton. The suspect made no attempt to pay for the gas. The suspect was again caught on camera.

Type:              Attempt Break and Enter - Garage
Incident:         17-48459
Location:        Springfield Drive
Incident:         On December 19, 2017 at around 10:30 p.m. an unknown male tried to 
break into a locked garage at a home on Springfield Drive. The male was 
last seen heading towards Henderson on foot. The suspect is described as 
wearing a hooded coat and carrying a backpack. No other description 
available. 

Type:  Arrest on Warrant ? Recovery of Stolen Bicycle
Incident: 17-48414
Incident: On Tuesday December 19 at around 2:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers recognized a male riding a bicycle in the area of Grey Street and Clarence Street who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The accused was wanted for failing to attend court. The accused was arrested as a result of the outstanding warrant and officers investigated the ownership of the Trek bicycle the accused was riding. A check of the serial number found that the bicycle was stolen.
On Saturday August 19, 2017 at around 3:00 p.m. a Trek bicycle which had been locked up in front of an address on Henry Street was reported stolen. The owner of the bicycle had recently purchased the 21 speed mountain bike and was able to provide police with the serial number. The accused, a 29 year old Brantford man is also charged with Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000.00. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
