House Fire Leads to Drug Seizure

On Wednesday, June 17, members of the Brantford Police Service and Brantford Fire Department were dispatched to a home on Diana Avenue in response to a house fire. Upon arriving on scene, first responders found a portion of the home engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, it was determined that no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were sustained. Significant damage to the home was caused by the fire.

On June 18, 2020, as a result of the investigation, police obtained a search warrant for the residence. Upon execution of the search warrant, police located approximately 78 grams of cocaine, cash and equipment commonly used for illicit drug trafficking. The estimated street value of the substance is $7500.

No persons have been arrested or charged in connection with this incident and the investigation is ongoing.
