Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Knifes Seized After Traffic Stop

On Friday, August 27, 2021 at approximately 2:47 a.m., Community Patrol Officers with the Brantford Police Service observed a motor vehicle driving erratically in the area of Clarence Street and Colborne Street and conducted a traffic stop.
 
Officers observed signs of intoxication when speaking with the male driver, who was subsequently placed under arrest for Operation while Impaired.
 
Search incident to arrest located the following items:
  • 68.05 grams (approx.) of suspected Methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $6,805
  • 5.57 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $1,392
  • Digital scale and drug paraphernalia
  • Brass knuckles with a knife attachment
  • 17 knives, including one prohibited weapon - butterfly knife

The accused was transported to perform a Drug Recognition Evaluation, the results of which provided the grounds to charge the accused with Operation while Impaired (drug).

As a result of the investigation, Ryan Gary SLAUENWHITE, 36, of Brantford, stands charged with the following:
  • Operation While Impaired – contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose  x 2 – contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Trafficking in Substance x 2 – contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
