Two Youth Face Assault Charges in Recent Attacks on 13 Year Old

Oct 1, 2020

Incident # 20-38092

On September 29, 2020, Brantford Police launched an investigation after receiving a report from a parent to advise that his 13 year old daughter had been the victim of a series of serious assaults.

The police investigation revealed that three separate offences occurred within the last month. These assaults had been documented by video and made public on social media, further victimizing the young female.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and later sought medical attention.

As a result of the investigation, the following charges have been issued under the Criminal Code of Canada:

Accused #1: 13 year old, female from Brantford is charged with Assault x 3

Accused #2: 14 year old, female from Brantford is charged with Assault x 1

The investigation revealed the existence of an online social media "fight club” which features consensual and non-consensual fights between youth in the City of Brantford.

Brantford Police Service would like to remind parents of the importance of monitoring the social activity of their young children. Often youth are hesitant to come forward and could downplay an incident as they may fear retaliation from bullies.
