The Brantford Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in relation to missing person Cole HILL. He has been located safe and there are no longer concerns about his well-being.

Brantford Police are seeking the public?s assistance in locating a missing 23 year old male, Cole HILL. 
Cole HILL is described as an Indigenous male, 5?10 ", approximately 165 pounds, with black curly hair to the neck, scruffy facial hair, beard and moustache. He was last observed wearing a grey pull over, dark blue jeans and white and blue running shoes which were in poor condition.  Police are concerned for his wellbeing.

Type:  Break and Enter - Residential
Incident: 18-14040
Location: Grand River Ave
Incident  On Monday April 16, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter on Grand River Ave.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open the front door to the residence.  Reported taken from the residence was a guitar, iPad and jewelry.

Location: Blackburn Drive
Incident: On Monday April 16, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of damage to a vehicle on Blackburn Drive.  The owner advised that sometime overnight the rear passenger window was smashed out of the vehicle.  It was unknown what was taken at the time of the report. 

Type:  Attempt Break and Enter - Residential

Location: Terrace Hill Street    
Incident: On Monday April 16, Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter on Terrace Hill Street.  Sometime overnight unknown person(s) tried to force open the rear door to the residence.  The rear door was damaged but entry was not gained.  Nothing was reported missing at the time of the report.

Incident:  On Monday April 16, 2018 just after 11:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a report of a stolen motor vehicle.  The vehicle a 2000 GMC Sierra pickup had been parked at a local business.  Unknown suspec(s) took the vehicle from the parking lot.

Type:  Traffic Stop
Incident: 18-13714
Location: King George Road 
Incident  On Saturday April 14, 2018 just before 1:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on King George Road.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  The driver showed signs of impairment and was issued a demand to provide a sample of his breath by the roadside into an approved screen device.  The driver provided a sample which registered a warning.  Investigation revealed that the driver was to have an Ignition Interlock Device on the vehicle he was operating.  The vehicle the driver was operating did not have the device equipped.  The driver a 57 year old Kitchener male is charged with Drive Motor Vehicle ? Not Equipped with Ignition Interlock Device and Speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.  The accused vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.

Location: Wellington Street
Incident: On Saturday April 14, 2018 just before 10:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a Break and Enter.  Sometime during the morning unknown person(s) forced open the side door to a residence on Wellington Street.  Reported taken from the residence was money.

Location: Erie Ave    
Incident: On Saturday April 14, 2018 just before 5:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling in the area of Erie Ave.  Information received was the licence plates attached to the vehicle did not belong to that vehicle and were currently expired.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the male driver.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle had recently been purchased but had not been registered.  It was also confirmed that the licence plates did not belong to this vehicle.   Further investigation revealed that the driver did not have a valid driver?s licence.  A 26 year old Ohsweken male is charged with Drive Motor Vehicle ? No Licence, Use Plates not Authorized for Motor Vehicle and Drive Motor Vehcile- No Validation.

Location: Lynden Road    
Incident:  On Monday April 16, 2018 just before 3:30 a.m. Community Patrol Officers located a vehicle parked in a lot on Lynden Road.  Officers investigated the vehicle and found it to be unoccupied and unlocked.  While investigating the vehicle officer could clearly see a cross bow and two gun cases in the backseat of the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed the cases contained a rifle and a shotgun.  None of the cases or firearms was secured properly.  The owner of the vehicle and firearms was contacted and spoken to.  Investigation confirmed the owner has the appropriate licences for the items located.  A 26 year old Brantford male is charged with Careless Storage of a Firearm under the Criminal Code and was released with a future court date.

Type:  Stolen Vehicle
Incident: 18-13450
Location: Park Ave 
Incident  On Thursday April 12th, 2018 just after 11:00 a.m. Brantford Police Service had a call about a suspicious vehicle in the area of Park Ave.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area and located the vehicle.  Information was received that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hamilton.  Officers observed a male entering into the driver?s side of the vehicle.  Officers approached the male who fled on foot.  A short foot pursuit ensued and the male was arrested after a brief struggle.  Investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of Break and Enter tools.  At the time of the accused arrest he was bound by a court order with conditions.  The accused a 28 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000, Breach of Probation, Possession of Break and Enter Tools and Obstruct Police-Resist Arrest of the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Dalhousie Street
Incident: On Thursday April 12, 2018 just before 4:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance on Dalhousie Street.   Information had been received that two males were fighting on the sidewalk and one of them was brandishing a knife. Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located a small crowd of people still in the area and a knife was located on the ground.  The parties that had been involved in the fight had fled the area prior to police arrival.  Investigation revealed that a male in the area had provided the knife to one of the males that had been involved in the altercation.  As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested for being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  At the time the accused was bound by two court orders with conditions.  A 26 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Breach of Probation and Breach of Undertaking under Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Market Street    
Incident: On Friday April 13, 2018 just before 2:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call about a disturbance on Market Street.  Information received was that two males were fighting in the area and one of them had a pair of brass knuckles.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located the two males involved in the altercation.  Both males involved received non-life threatening injures.   The accused was arrested without incident and was found to be in possession of a pair of brass knuckles.  A 26 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of a Prohibited weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm under the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Location: Colborne Street West (100 block)
Incident:   On April 12, 2018 shortly before 1:00 a.m. a 911 call was received from a concerned citizen about two males causing a disturbance and looking like they were about to fight. One male had a knife. The accused with the knife fled the area prior to police arriving. Community Patrol Officers found the accused a short distance away in possession of a small utility knife and three pieces of Fentanyl. The accused, a 25 year old Brantford man was arrested and is charged with Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Schedule I Drug (CDSA) and Breach of Probation.  The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Location: Second Avenue  
Incident:   On the morning of April 11, 2018 a home on Second Avenue was broken into. A front door was forced open and jewelry was reported stolen.

Location: Charing Cross
Incident:   On April 11, 2018 sometime during the day a locked rear shed was broken into. Reported stolen were two bicycles and some tools.

Incident:   Sometime in the last several days a trailer was entered at a business on Henry Street. Power cables were reported stolen.

Location: Helen Ave 
Incident  On Tuesday, April 10, 2018 just after 11:00 a.m. Brantford Police were
contacted regarding a suspicious male in the area of Strawberry lane.  The male was observed getting into the driver?s seat of a Honda and leaving the area.  Information received that the vehicle had been reported stolen on April 6, 2018.  Community Patrol Officers searched the area for the suspect and the vehicle.  Officers located the vehicle pulling into a parking lot on Helen Ave.  Officers observed the vehicle park in the lot and arrested the male as he exited the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  A 37 year old Brantford male is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.00 and Breach of Probation under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Location: Nelson Street
Incident: On Tuesday April 10, 2018, just after 8:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about an altercation at a residence on Nelson Street.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the residence where they were advised that the accused had gotten into a verbal argument with his sister which turned physical.  The accused punched his sister numerous times, smashed the TV and punched holes in the walls before leaving the residence.  The victim a 15 year old female received non-life threatening injuries.   Officers searched the area and located the accused a short distance away where he was arrested without incident.  Further investigation revealed the accused was currently bound by a court order with conditions.  The accused a 17 year old Brantford male is charged with Mischief Under $5,000.00 x2, Assault and Breach of Recognizance under the Criminal Code of Canada.  The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

Location: Elgin Street    
Incident: On Tuesday April 10, 2018 Brantford Police Service received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Elgin Street.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) forced open the front door to the residence.  At the time of the report it was unknown what was taken.   

Type: Impaired Driving      
Incident: 18-13254
Location: Market Street   
Incident: On Tuesday April 10, 2018 just before 11:30 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Murray Street with no headlights.  Officers performed a traffic stop and spoke to the female driver.  The driver showed signs of impairment and was issued a demand to provide a sample of her breath by the roadside into an approved screen device. The results were a fail and the accused was arrested and transported to the Brantford Police Service where she was to provide samples of her breath as required by law.  The samples provided were three times the legal limit.  The accused, a 43 year old Brantford woman is charged with Impaired Operation Motor Vehicle ? Over 80.  Further the accused licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Location: Sympatica Crescent
Incident:   On April 9, 2018 at around 9:00 a.m. a Community Patrol Officer on routine patrol observed a green Jeep driving in the area of Sympatica Crescent. The plates attached to the vehicle were not registered to the vehicle and the validation sticker expired in 2012. The officer conducted a traffic stop to investigate further.  The male driver had not registered the vehicle after purchasing from a friend last year.  The vehicle was not insured and the driver did not have a drivers licence.
 The driver a 33 year old Brantford man was charged with; Drive Motor Vehicle no Licence, Use Plate not Authorized for Motor Vehicle, Operate Motor Vehicle no Insurance and Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming an Owner. The accused was issued Part 3 Summons with a future court date.
    
Type: Break and Enter - Commercial
Incident: 18-13045
Location: 640 West Street  
Incident:   On April 10, 2018 sometime around 3:30 a.m. the front doors of an apartment building on West Street were forced open.  A laundry room was entered and several coin laundry machines were damaged and a small amount of change was stolen. The damage to the machines is estimated at over $2,000.00.  
     
Type: Break and Enter ? Underground Parking Garage 
Incident: 18-13049
Location: Helen Avenue
Incident:   On April 10, 2018 shortly before 5:30 a.m. several vehicles were entered while parked at a residential underground parking garage. The apartment complex has secure access to the building. Four vehicles were reported entered with two of the vehicles reporting damage during the forced entry to the vehicle.  Surveillance captured two male suspects on video. Amongst the items reported stolen were two pairs of ladies running shoes, a Samsung Galaxy phone, a box of unopened diapers and a Lenovo Think pad.

Location: King George Road 
Incident  On Sunday April 9, 2018 just before 6:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service
received a report of a possible fraud.  An unknown male had attended a business on King George Road.  The male was attempting to get a loan and presented identification that appeared to be fake or altered.  Community Patrol Officers attended and spoke to the male.  Investigation revealed the male provided a false name and that the identification was altered and did not belong to him.  A 29 year old Brantford male is charged with Fraud Under $5000.00, Utter Forged Documents and Personation.

Incident: 18-12906
Location: Market Street.
Incident: On Sunday April 8, 2018 just after 2:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a call about a possible impaired driver who was currently parked on Market Street.  Community Patrol Officers attended and located the vehicle.  Officers observed a male driver sleeping at the wheel of the vehicle.  Upon speaking to the driver he showed signs of impairment.  The driver was arrested for Care and Control of a motor vehicle while ability Impaired.  The accused was transported to the Brantford Police Service where he provided two samples of his breath as required by law.  The accused samples were twice the legal limit.  A 25 year old Brantford male is charged with Care and Control of Motor Vehicle while Impaired and Care and Control Over 80.  The accused was also issued a 90 day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  The accused was later released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date. 

Type:  Theft from Motor Vehicle - Arrest

Location:  McKenzie Ave.   
Incident: On Sunday April 8, 2018 just before 4:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call from a resident on McKenzie Ave.  Unknown males were observed going into vehicles in the area and scared off by one of the owners.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located two males matching the description.  The two males were arrested without incident.  Further investigation revealed that there was also an attempt to steal one of the motor vehicles in the area.  The accused when located were still in possession of some of the stolen property along with break in tools.  An 18 year old Ohsweken male has been charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Break In Instruments, Attempt Theft Motor Vehicle and Disobey Court Order under the Criminal Code.  A 17 year old Ohsweken male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Break In Instruments and Attempt Theft Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code.  Both males were held in custody for a bail hearing.

Location: Market Street   
Incident: On Sunday April 8, 2018 just after 11:00 p.m. Community Patrol Officers observed a vehicle travelling on Market Street near Nelson Street.  Information was received that the licence plates attached to the vehicle did not belong to that vehicle.  A traffic stop was performed and the driver spoken to.  Investigation revealed that the driver had recently purchased the vehicle but had not registered the vehicle her name.  It was also confirmed that the licence plates were not registered for that vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that the driver?s licence was currently suspended and that there was no insurance for the vehicle.  The accused a 23 year old Brantford woman is charged with Drive While Under Suspension, Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle and Fail to Apply for Permit Upon Becoming New Owner under the Highway traffic Act.  She is also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle-No Insurance under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

Type:  Break and Enter ? Residential
Incident: 18-12625
Location: Sheridan Street 
Incident  On Thursday April 5, 2018 just before 6:30 p.m. Brantford Police Service
received a report of a break and enter to a residence on Sheridan Street.  Sometime during the day unknown person(s) gained entry to the residence through a basement window.  Reported taken was jewelry, money and identification.  

Type:  Theft from Motor Vehicle     
Incident: 18-12664
Location: Enfield Cres.
Incident: On Friday April 6, 2018 just before 2:30 a.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call about thefts from motor vehicles on Enfield Cres.  Two unknown males were observed going into vehicles in the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area where they located two males matching the description.  The suspects fled on foot but were found a short time later hiding behind a residence on Osejek Cres.  The two males were arrested without incident.  A 15 year old Kitchener male has been charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Trespass at Night under the Criminal Code and Fail to Comply with Sentence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  A 14 year old Brantford male is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Trespass at Night under the Criminal Code. 

Type:  Domestic - Arrest      
Incident: 18-12644
Location: Henry Street  
Incident: On Thursday April 5, 2018 just before 9:00 p.m. Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call regarding a domestic dispute in a parking lot on Henry Street.  The accused was seen grabbing the victim and striking her before getting into a vehicle and leaving the area.  Community Patrol Officers attended to the area in an attempt to locate both parties.  The victim a 22 year old female was able to attend to the Brantford Police Service and speak to police.  Investigation revealed that the victim had been threatened and then physically assault by the accused.  The accused was located and arrested without incident.  A 24 year old Brantford male is charged with Assault and Utter Threats to cause Bodily Harm/ Death.  The accused was held for a bail hearing.
