BPS arrest arson suspect

As a result of an ongoing investigation, officers with the Brantford Police Service have identified and arrested the individual believed to be responsible for the residential fire that occurred on Darling Street on November 17, 2025.
Following investigative efforts, an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.
At approximately 7:40 a.m. on November 22, 2025, police received a call from a homeowner reporting that an unknown person was attempting to ignite a fire in a backyard firepit at a residence on Erie Street. Officers attended, located the suspect in the yard, and took her into custody without incident.
As a result, a 33-year-old Brantford woman has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
• Arson – Disregard for Human Life
• Arson – Damage to Property
• Break and Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence
The accused was held for a bail hearing.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Brantford police received a call from Brantford Fire to advise of an active fire at a Darling Street residence (near Drummond Street).
Police arrived on scene. Three young males were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to safely exit before calling 911.
Through investigation it was determined that the fire originated in the basement of the home and has been deemed suspicious. Officers with the Brantford Police Service are investigating this as a case of arson and have obtained the following images from CCTV footage. The images are being released in hopes that the public can provide information to assist police to identify the suspect.
The suspect is described as white, with dark shoulder length hair, glasses, and was wearing a black jacket with a fur lined trim hood, checkered coloured pajama pants, a winter hat, and dark shoes.
