As a result of an investigation launched by the Brantford Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), in February 2025, a 39-year-old Brantford man has been arrested and is facing child pornography charges.
Members of the Brantford Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a Brantford residence on March 31, 2025, after receiving tips through the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children and the R.C.M.P. Officers seized multiple computers, cellphones, and electronic devices during the course of the search.
Detectives working in the ICE Unit found evidence of child pornography on the various devices.
As a result of the investigation, on June 26, 2025, a 39-year-old male from Brantford was arrested and held for a bail hearing. The accused is facing one charge of Accessing Child Pornography, and two counts of Possession of Child Pornography contrary to the Criminal Code.
The Brantford Police ICE Unit are continuing their investigations. Police believe that further individuals will be arrested, and charges will be laid as they continue their investigation and forensically examine the seized electronic devices. Anyone with information related to these cases or has information relating to sexual crimes against children is urged to call the Brantford Police ICE Unit at 519-756-7050.
Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous are asked to contact Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477 or 1-800-222-8477. Alternatively, a web tip may be submitted at: https://www.crimestoppersbb.com/submit-a-tip/
The Brantford Police Service joined the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Exploitation on the Internet in 2007. The Provincial Strategy is comprised of the OPP Child Exploitation Section and 27 municipal police services. This Project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
The Brantford Police Service supports this strategy and has recognized that images of children and child abuse placed on the internet lead to perpetual victimization.
The online exploitation of children continues to be a challenge for investigators due to its sheer volume, global reaches, and anonymity; however, the Brantford Police Service is committed to ensuring the safety of our community’s children and taking action against online sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children.
