BPS investigate after unoccupied truck hit by train

On May 14, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a pick-up truck that was hit by a train on the rail tracks east of Wayne Gretzky Parkway.

Investigation revealed that the truck had been abandoned on the tracks and was unoccupied when the collision occurred. No physical injuries have been reported. 

The vehicle has since been removed from the tracks and thorough search of the area was conducted to locate any persons who may have been in the vehicle. The search included the use of BPS Canine Unit and drone technology. No one was located in the area. No charges have been laid.  

Brantford police have been working with CN police, who have now taken carriage of the investigation.

If anyone noticed anything suspicious in the area including any persons walking or in the area of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and the CN overpass or have dash cam footage of the truck leaving the roadway, please contact A/Sgt.
