Drug Investigation Results in Large Fentanyl Seizure for Brantford Police Service

Officers with the Brantford Police Service have arrested three people and seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, as the result of a drug trafficking investigation.

In January 2026, a drug trafficking investigation was launched by the Brantford Police Service Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit and Criminal Intelligence Unit. 

As a result of the investigation, three individuals were arrested on February 23, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., in the area of Market Street and Sheridan Street. The following items were seized during the arrest:

  • 462.6 grams of fentanyl
  • 677 hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills
  • 175.5 grams of methamphetamine
  • 36.8 grams of cocaine
  • Digital scales and drug paraphernalia
  • Stun Gun
  • Butterfly knife
  • Loaded handgun
  • A large quantity of Canadian Currency
  • Suspect vehicle

The combined street value of the illegal drugs is estimated at $113,700. 

Also, on February 23, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m., members of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team, Drug and Firearms Enforcement Unit, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Forensic Identification Section executed search warrants at two residences within the city of Brantford. 

The investigation also revealed that the accused individuals were in violation of a probation order and a weapons/firearm related prohibition order. 

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking; Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Hydromorphone
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm

 

A 33-year-old man from Hamilton was arrested and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Breach of Probation
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime

 And a 34-year-old woman from Hamilton was arrested and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl

The accused were held for bail hearings.
