Illegal Drugs, Multiple Weapons Seized by BPS Core Engagement and Response Team

A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with a number of offences after the BPS Core Engagement and Response Team found him in possession of multiple weapons and a large quantity of illegal substances.
On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Brantford Police Service Core Engagement and Response Team who were on foot patrol in the Downtown core, positively identified a man who was wanted on an arrest warrant.
Officers placed the man under arrest in the area of Colborne Street near Wharfe Street.
Search incident to arrest located a large quantity of suspected fentanyl and cocaine as well as an expandable baton and a knife in the suspect’s possession.
As a result, a 30-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following:
• POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE
• CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON
• POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE - FENTANYL
• POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE - COCAINE
The accused was held for bail.
The CERT Team is comprised of a combination of sworn officers and special constables who remain focused on proactive enforcement while also addressing offences and unwanted behaviour within the Downtown Core. The efforts of the BPS CERT team enhance the ability of our front-line patrol officers to attend to the safety of citizens community wide.
