Two men arrested and facing weapons charges after dispute at motel

Two men were arrested and charged with weapons related offences after a disturbance at a Colborne Street motel.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 6:20 a.m., officers responded to a weapons related call for service at a motel located at Colborne Street and James Avenue. It was reported that there was a disturbance in progress involving four people; one man was reported to be armed with a knife and another man with brass knuckles. No physical injuries were reported.
Officers attended and, as a result of the incident, a 24-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Assault with a Weapon
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Additionally, a 37-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Prohibited Device – Brass Knuckles
Both of the accused were held for bail.
