Brantford police remind motorists to make safety a priority this Civic Holiday long weekend

As residents prepare to enjoy the Civic Holiday long weekend, the Brantford Police Service is reminding motorists that every decision made behind the wheel has the potential to impact not only themselves, but everyone sharing our roads.

The Brantford Police Service are urging drivers to make safe, responsible choices by obeying speed limits, eliminating distractions, buckling up, and never driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Throughout the month of July, Brantford police officers remained focused on traffic safety through proactive enforcement efforts, resulting in:

• 164 Provincial Offence Charges Laid
• 139 Provincial Offence Warnings Issued
•   23 Impaired Driving Incidents

Traffic analysis conducted by the Brantford Police Service has identified the following roadways as locations where officers are responding to the highest number of repeat traffic-related incidents and offences across the city. These areas continue to be a focus for proactive traffic enforcement and education initiatives aimed at improving road safety for all users:

• Colborne Street
• Powerline Road
• Mount Pleasant Street
• Wayne Gretzky Parkway
• Dalhousie Street
• Lynden Road
• West Street
• Blackburn Drive
• Erie Ave
