Brantford Police Service Investigate Early-Morning Shooting

The Brantford Police Service are actively investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this morning outside a Powell Road residence.

On Friday, August 28, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received to report a shooting outside a Powell Road residence. Multiple shots were fired at the home. Although residents were inside at the time of the incident, no injuries occurred. 

Police have recovered the suspect vehicle, a black sedan, used in the incident. 

This incident is believed to be targeted and does not pose a risk to public safety.

Police are asking residents in the immediate area to check any video surveillance, doorbell or dash-cam footage between 4:00 am and 5:00 a.m., specifically footage which may show the suspect vehicle, and to contact police with any information. 

As this investigation is active and ongoing, additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
