Incident: 22-25225
Location: Nelson Street
On Saturday, June 26, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a 911 call from a concerned resident to report a man with a knife on a bike chasing another male in the area of Nelson Street.
Officers attended and located the suspect male who was then advised he was under arrest for Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
The accused attempted to flee. Officers pursued on foot and the accused was quickly taken into custody.
Search incident to arrest revealed the knife allegedly used in the incident was in possession of the accused.
Additionally, investigation revealed the bicycle the accused was riding had previously been reported stolen to the Brantford Police Service and the accused was determined to be in violation of valid probation orders.
As a result of this investigation a 30-year-old man from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
• Possession of Stolen Goods Under $5000
• Assault with a Weapon
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Resist Arrest
• Escape lawful custody
• Breach of Probation
The accused was held for bail.
Type: Impaired – Alcohol, Drugs
Incident: 22-25127, 22-25128
Location: Stanley Street
On Sunday June 26, 2022, at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a call to advise of a possible impaired driver in the area of Market Street.
Officers attended, located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Stanley Street and Dalhousie Street.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment.
The driver was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over the legal limit.
Additionally, the driver was determined to be a novice driver (G1) and required to maintain a zero-blood alcohol level.
As a result, a 31-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following:
• Operation While Impaired – Alcohol, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Level, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The licence of the accused was suspended, and the motor vehicle towed and impounded for 7 days.
Additionally, during the traffic stop, while speaking with the passenger, officers observed signs of intoxication. The passenger appeared to be attempting to conceal a bottle of alcohol under the passenger seat.
The passenger initially refused to identify herself to police. After being advised she would be arrested for failing to identify, she then provided an identity.
Investigation revealed an outstanding arrest warrant existed for the identity provided. As officers executed the warrant for arrest, the accused fled on foot in an attempt to evade police.
After a short foot pursuit, the accused was taken into custody.
Investigation revealed the identity provided to police was false.
Search incident to arrest located a quantity of several prescription drugs packaged in a manner for sales.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old female from Paris, stands charged with the following and was held for bail:
• Possession controlled substance x2, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Obstruction contrary to the Criminal Code
• Identity Fraud contrary to the Criminal Code

Location: Henry Street
On Saturday June 25, 2022, at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a break and enter in progress at a community hall located on Henry Street.
Officers attended and located the accused who was allegedly attempting to gain entry to the building.
As a result, a 31-year-old man from Brantford, stands charged with:
• Break, Enter A Place - With Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to the Criminal Code

Location: Dundas Street East
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at approximately 5:15 a.m., the Brantford Police Service received a 911 call to report a fence post had allegedly been thrown thru the window of a residence located on Dundas Street East.
Through investigation, the individual responsible was identified and located by police in the backyard of a neighbouring property, where the accused allegedly caused additional property damage.
When police informed the accused he was under arrest, he attempted to flee on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, the accused was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was in violation of two valid probation orders.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old man of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
• Trespass/Prowl Near Dwelling House
• Mischief Under $5000 x 2
•Breach of Probation
• Resist Arrest
The accused was held for bail.
Type: Stunt Driving
Incident: 22-24979
Location: Park Road North
On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at approximately 5:15 a.m., officers were in the area of Park Road North conducting speed enforcement and observed a vehicle travelling at a recorded speed of 107 km/hr in a posted 50km/hr zone.
A traffic stop was conducted. The accused was determined to be a novice licenced driver (G2).
As a result, a 19-year-old male from Brantford stands charged with the following Highway Traffic Act violations:
• Drive motor vehicle perform stunt speeding by 40 or more kilometres per hour in a zone that is less than 80 km/h
• Speeding 107 km/h in a posted 50 km hour zone
The accused’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and vehicle impounded for 14 days as part of the administrative penalty of the Highway Traffic Act
Type: Impaired - Drugs
Incident: 22-24953
Location: Wellington Street
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a call related to a possible impaired driver in the area of Wellington Street and Alfred Street.
Officers attended and located the reported vehicle. Two occupants were observed in the vehicle. The occupants appeared to be unconscious, and the vehicle was running.
After several attempts, officers successfully awakened the occupants. Signs of impairment were observed. Drug paraphernalia was also observed in clear view.
The accused was arrested for Operation while Impaired by Drug.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old male from Brantford, stands charged with Operation while Impaired by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code.
Additionally, a license suspension was issued, and the vehicle impounded as per law.

Incident: 22-24937
Location: West Street
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Brantford Police Service received a 911 call to report a disturbance involving a weapon at a location on West Street.
A man was reported to be acting erratic, becoming involved in a confrontation with an unknown male. The accused was reported to have waved a knife at the man.
Officers attended and located the accused nearby at a fast-food restaurant. The accused was subsequently arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Information received indicated that the accused was in violation of valid court orders.
A search incident to arrest revealed the accused was in possession of a machete and approximately 0.55 grams of suspected fentanyl.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old man from Brantford, stands charged with the following:
• Possession of Weapons Dangerous, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Breach of Judicial Release, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Breach of Probation, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Possession, Schedule I, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Location: Bain Street
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Brantford Police Service received a report related to vehicle damage at a location on Bain Street. The accused was detained by security and was reported to be heavily intoxicated.
Officers attended and observed a vehicle with its rear windshield and driver’s side windows smashed. A large piece of wood was hanging out of the driver’s side window.
Witnesses reported that the accused had allegedly smashed the car windows with the piece of wood.
Information received indicated that the accused was in violation of a valid probation order.
As a result, a 56-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following:
• Mischief under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Failure to Comply with Probation, contrary to the Criminal Code
• Being intoxicated in Public Place, contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act

Incident: 22-24854
Location: Market Street
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a disturbance in the area of Victoria Park, Market Street.
A man was reported to have engaged in a verbal confrontation and subsequently assaulted two individuals (a 38-year-old man and 35-year-old woman) with a stick.
The victims sustained minor injuries.
After the assault, the accused fled on foot.
A brief foot chase occurred with officers locating and arresting the accused nearby at approximately 12:20 p.m.
Information received indicated the accused was in violation of valid probation orders.
As result of this investigation, a 25-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
• Possession of Weapons Dangerous
• Assault Cause Bodily Harm X 2
• Assault with a Weapon x 2
• Breach of Probation

On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 8:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a property damage related call at a parking garage located on Icomm Drive.
A man was reported to have been observed by security spray painting the parking garage stairwell.
Officers attended and located the accused.
Information received indicted that the accused was in violation of valid court orders.
As a result, a 29-year-old man from Brantford (no fixed address) stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
• Mischief under $5,000
• Failure to comply with undertaking
• Breach of probation order

Location: Dundas Street East
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a disturbance at a Dundas Street East residence.
It was reported that a female, who had appeared to be heavily intoxicated, allegedly entered the victim’s residence thru an unlocked door.
When asked to leave the residence, the accused initially refused, became irate, caused minor property damage, and then exited the home.
While outside, the accused then was reported to have thrown a propane tank at the victim’s vehicle.
Officers attended, and located the accused nearby, who was then arrested.
Search incident to arrest located a large quantity of cannabis in the possession of the accused.
As a result, a 31-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
• Mischief Under $5000
• Unlawfully in Dwelling House
• Possession of over 30G Dried Cannabis (or equivalent) in a Public Place
CRIME BRIEF: June 23, 2022
Type: Impaired - Alcohol
Incident: 22-24413
Location: Market Street South
On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Brantford Police Service to advise of a possible impaired driver located in a Market Street South parking lot.
Officers attended, located the vehicle, and female suspect.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment.
The accused was arrested for impaired operation and transported to provide samples of breath as required by law.
Both samples provided were over three times the legal limit.
Information was received to indicate that the accused was a prohibited driver, and the licence plate was not authorized for the vehicle in question.
As a result, a 24-year-old female from Brantford, stands charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired, contrary to the Criminal Code
- 80 Plus, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Drive while under suspension x 2 contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver’s licence of the accused suspended.

Location: Market Street South
On Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was received to report a man with a firearm in a store located at Market Street South and Icomm Drive.
Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect who was arrested without incident.
Search incident to arrest located an airsoft pellet gun concealed on his person.
Information received indicated that the accused was in violation of a valid probation order.
As a result of this investigation, a 25-year-old man from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations and was held for bail:
- Weapons Dangerous
- Carry a Concealed Weapon (Airsoft Gun)
- Breach Probation

Incident: 22-23924
Location: Market Street
On Saturday, June 18, 2022, at approximately 1:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of a robbery that had occurred at a location near Market Street and Dalhousie Street.
Information was received that a 24-year-old male victim was allegedly assaulted by two men and robbed of his wallet and backpack while walking near Market Street and Dalhousie Street.
The victim sustained minor physical injuries.
Investigation revealed that the victim’s bank card was utilized by one of the suspects at a nearby retail store.
The suspect was located and arrested later the same day. Search incident to arrest located the victim’s belongings in possession of the accused.
As a result of the incident, a 22-year-old male from Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Robbery with violence
- Possession of stolen goods under $5,000
- Fraud – under $5,000
The accused was held for bail.

Incident: 22-23590
Location: Nelson Street
On Thursday, June 16, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a dispute between three people at a Nelson Street residence. A firearm was reported to be involved.
It was reported that the accused was involved in a dispute with two residents and, when asked, he refused to leave.
When the victims advised they were calling the police, the accused left. It was believed by the victims that the accused was in possession of a firearm.
Officers attended and located the accused nearby. The accused resisted arrest as officers placed him under investigative detention for the offence of weapons dangerous.
Search incident to arrest located three 12-guage shotguns, one which had previously been reported as stolen with a neighbouring service, ammunition, approximately 15.93 grams of suspected fentanyl, Canadian currency and drug packaging paraphernalia.
Further investigation revealed that the accused does not have a Possession and Acquisition Licence and is bound by two valid firearms prohibition orders. The accused was also found to be in violation of a valid undertaking.
As a result, the accused, Donte YATES, a 19-year-old male from Kitchener stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Carless use of firearm, weapon, ammunition
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of weapon obtained by crime
- Firearm or weapon: Possession contrary to prohibition order x 2
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Resist arrest
The accused also stands charged with Trafficking in Substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was held for bail.
Brantford police investigating armed robbery
Brantford police are investigating an armed robbery of a retail business and are seeking information from the public to help identify suspects. A firearm was used by suspects during the robbery.
On Monday, June 20, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery at a retail location within the Lynden Park Mall located at Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Lynden Road.
Officers attended and investigation revealed three male suspects entered the business, brandished a firearm, and demanded merchandise from the store employees. The men were wearing gloves and their faces were concealed.
The suspects obtained a quantity of cell phones and fled the scene in a silver Dodge Ram pick-up truck, heading westbound on Highway 403.
No physical injuries were sustained during the incident.

Location: Colborne Street
On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of an assault that had occurred in a Colborne Street parking lot.
The victim, a 29-year-old female, was reported to have been physically assaulted by a 35-year-old female.
The victim sustained minor physical injuries.
As a result of the incident, a 35-year-old female from Mitchell, stands charged with Assault contrary to the Criminal Code.

Location: Colborne Street West / Oak Street
On Sunday, June 12, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service responded to a report of a road rage incident that had escalated, resulting in a collision between a cyclist and motor vehicle.
A verbal dispute was reported to have occurred between a male cyclist and a man driving a motor vehicle on Colborne Street West near Oak Street.
A collision between the vehicle and bicycle occurred. The driver of the vehicle left the scene.
The victim, a 56-year-old man, was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The accused, a 21-year-old man from Brantford, stands charged with Fail to remain contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Location: Eagle Avenue and Ontario Street
On Saturday, June 11, 2022, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to the area of Eagle Avenue and Ontario Street after receiving a report of a hit and run.
A vehicle was observed by witnesses to have fled the scene after colliding with another vehicle.
Officers located the suspect vehicle driven by the accused nearby and a traffic stop was initiated.
The accused failed to stop for police and continued to drive into a busy retail parking lot located at Market Street South. In an effort to prevent injury to pedestrians who were in the area, officers blocked the suspect vehicle in.
At this time, the accused was arrested for Failure to Stop After Accident and Flight from Police, contrary to the Criminal Code.
In speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of intoxication.
The accused was then arrested for Operation while Impaired and was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over three times the legal limit.
As a result, a 40-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
•Operation while Impaired
•Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
•Failure to Stop after Accident
•Flight from Police
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver’s licence of the accused suspended.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a driving complaint, where a motorist was creating a disturbance, stalling traffic at the intersection of Erie Avenue and Cayuga Street.
Officers attended and located the accused who was now parked in a parking lot on Erie Avenue.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of intoxication. A roadside screening demand was issued, which registered a fail.
The accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old man from Scotland, stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
•Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
•80 Plus
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver’s licence of the accused suspended.
BPS TIGER Unit arrest 33-year-old man, seize weapons and over $20,000 in illegal drugs

On Thursday June 9, 2022, members of the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response Unit (T.I.G.E.R.) completed a firearms investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant had been obtained and executed at an address on Lynwood Drive. The warrant was executed with the assistance of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team.
As a result of the search, officers seized the following:
- .45 calibre handgun with magazine
- Handgun ammunition
- Remington 783 Rifle
- Spotting scope
- Conducted Energy Weapon
- Canadian currency
- Digital scale
- 6 edged weapons
- Approximately 40.75 grams of suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $16,300
- Approximately 46.52 grams of suspected Cocaine with an estimated street value of $ 4,652

As a result of the investigation, Andrew Grant MCLEOD, 33, of Winnipeg, stands charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Careless storage of a firearm x 2, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 3, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of firearm x 2, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to the Criminal Code

BPS TIGER Unit arrest 39-year-old man, seize illegal drugs

On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, members of
the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and
Response (T.I.G.E.R) Unit completed a drug investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a Controlled
Drug and Substances Act search warrant had been obtained and executed at a
location on Cayuga Street and a location on Gladstone Avenue within the City of
Brantford. The warrants were executed with the assistance of the Brantford
Police Service Emergency Response Team.
As a result of the search, officers
seized the following:
- 15.73 grams (approx.) of suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $6,292
- Brass knuckles
- Canadian currency
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused was held for bail.

Suspect Identified in 1983 Disappearance of Mary Hammond

Thirty-nine years after the disappearance of Mary Hammond, detectives with the Brantford Police Service have identified a man believed to be responsible.
On September 8, 1983, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Mary Emma Hammond (nee Bisenthal) left her townhouse on Elgin St., to walk to work. Mary was scheduled to work the early morning shift at the former Buns Master Bakery, at 110 Morton Avenue, where she had worked for approximately one year.
Walking north on Park Road North (now Wayne Gretzky Parkway) she passed the Massey-Ferguson factory and cut across the field towards the rear of the bakery.
At approximately 4:00 a.m., a co-worker called Mary's husband asking why she had not arrived at work. Mary’s footprints were followed to the property line at the rear of the bakery and to a point where Mary cut across a field. They then disappeared.
Police were notified. Evidence at the scene included some items from her lunch: a cup, a dish, and a half-eaten apple. One of Mary's white sockettes and a small quantity of blood were located in an area of the field.
At the time of her disappearance, Mary Hammond was 25 years old, 5'10", 140 lbs., with long straight reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion. Mary was last seen wearing a blue, mauve, and red lumber jacket, blue jeans, a yellow t-shirt, and white Adidas running shoes with a silver stripe.
Through continued investigation, police were able to identify evidence in Mary Hammond’s disappearance. This evidence has helped investigators over the years to identify people who may have been involved in Mary’s disappearance.
On September 11, 1983, during the initial stages of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a Memorial Drive residence. Evidence seized at this time was examined and remained in police custody.
Through this historical evidence seized and with advancements in mitochondrial DNA analysis, investigators were able to forensically link Mary Hammond to a man believed to be responsible for her abduction and murder.
Mitochondrial DNA analysis is an investigative tool that is relatively new to policing. Thru additional investigation, research, and interviews, utilizing this tool can lead to the identification of persons of interest in historical cases such as this.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives with the Brantford Police Service have identified Stephen MUDKO as the individual believed to be responsible for the abduction and murder of Mary Hammond.
At the time of Mary’s disappearance, MUDKO was 36-years-of-age and resided in a home on Memorial Drive in Brantford.
Stephen MUDKO died on June 16, 2010. However, if he were alive today and able to stand trial, he would face the following charges:
- Abduction
- Murder – 1st Degree
The Brantford Police Service are releasing a historical photograph of Stephen MUDKO in the hopes that it may provide additional information which could help further this investigation.

The whereabouts of Mary Hammond are still unknown. Although a suspect has been identified, detectives believe that additional individuals may still have information or knowledge related to the disappearance of Mary Hammond. This investigation is ongoing.
As a result of the advancements in technology and forensic sciences, the continued dedication of our officers, and information from our community, the Brantford Police Service is one step closer to being able to determine what happened to Mary Hammond and bring closure to her family.

CRIME BRIEF: June 7, 2022
Type: Impaired - Alcohol
Incident: 22-21899
Location: Cedarland Park, Ashgrove Avenue
On Sunday June 5, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service were dispatched to attend a report of a possible impaired driver within Cedarland Park, Ashgrove Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have been observed consuming alcohol while in his vehicle. Witnesses observed the accused driving recklessly at a high rate of speed within the park, across the soccer field.
Many young children and families were using the park at this time.
Thankfully, no physical injuries were reported to have occurred as a result of this incident.
Officers attended and located the vehicle in question in the basketball court. The vehicle was running, with the accused occupying the driver’s seat.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle and advised the accused that he was under arrest.
The accused refused to comply with officers, resisting arrest.
The accused was arrested by officers. When speaking with the accused, officers observed signs of impairment.
The accused was transported to provide samples of breath as required by law. Both samples provided were over double the legal limit.

As a result, a 29-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following Criminal Code violations:
- Obstruct Police Officer
- Dangerous Operation
- Impaired Operation
- Impaired Operation - Plus 80
- Mischief under $5000
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the drivers’ licence of the accused was suspended for 90-days.

Incident: 22-21757
Location: King George Road
On Saturday, June 4, 2022, at approximately 5:00 p.m., patrol officers with the Brantford Police Service conducted a traffic stop on King George Road near Powerline Road after observing a vehicle travelling at an excessively high rate of speed.
The subject vehicle was recorded travelling at a speed of 108 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone.
In speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. An open alcohol container was visible within the vehicle and accessible to the driver.
The accused was transported to provide samples of his breath as required by law. Both samples provided were almost four times the legal limit.
The accused failed to provide valid proof of insurance as required by law. Information received indicated that the accused was operating the vehicle with a suspended licence.
As a result, a 38-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following:
- Impaired operation, contrary to the Criminal Code
- 80 plus, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Suspended driver, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor ready available, contrary to the Liquor License Control Act
- Operate motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
Additionally, the vehicle was impounded.

Location: Darling Street
Officers with the Brantford Police Service received a report that a break and enter had occurred at a home on Darling Street on May 22, 2022.
The accused allegedly entered the home through an unlocked door and proceeded to take items before fleeing with the items in a waiting vehicle.
Investigation occurred and as a result, Ashley Mae Blasdell, 39, of Brantford stands charged with Break, Enter, dwelling house - commit indictable offence contrary to the Criminal Code.

Location: Darling Street
Officers with the Brantford Police Service received a report that a break and enter had occurred at a home on Darling Street, on May 24, 2022.
Through investigation, it was determined that two individuals entered the home through an unlocked door and took various items before fleeing with the items in a waiting vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, Cheryl Obediah, 33, and Brandon Blasdell, 32, both of Brantford, each stand charged with Break, Enter, dwelling house - commit indictable offence contrary to the Criminal Code.

Incident: 22-20902
Location: North Park Street
On Monday May 30, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service responded after receiving a 911 call regarding a physical altercation where one man was reported to possibly have been stabbed at a residence on North Park Street.
Officers attended and located the 61-year-old male victim suffering from what appeared to be a laceration to the arm.
The victim was transported to hospital to receive medical treatment for his injuries.
Officers located the accused, who was attempting to hide from police. Several weapons, including a crossbow and multiple firearms were located within reach of the suspect.
The accused was taken into police custody.
Information received indicated the accused was in violation of two valid probation orders.
As a result of the investigation, Dameon Austin HUNTER, 37, of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Aggravated Assault
- Breach of Probation Order x 2
The accused was held for bail.
32-year-old man arrested and charged with assault and numerous firearms offences

A 32-year-old Brantford man has been charged with numerous firearms related offences after police responded to a report of an assault in progress.
On Saturday, June 4, 2022, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers with the Brantford Police Service attended the area the of Charing Cross and West Street after receiving a call from a concerned citizen to report an assault.
Police were advised by the citizen that a male was observed to have punched a female multiple times before leaving the area on foot.
The male and female were located by police nearby. As officers approached, the male was observed to strike the female.
As officers exited their vehicle to intervene and arrest the male, he fled on foot, travelling southbound on Harris Ave. While attempting to flee from police, the accused was observed by officers to throw a bag over a fence.
Officers arrested the male and retrieved the bag. Search of the bag incident to arrest located a loaded 9mm firearm.
Information received indicated that the accused is currently bound by, and in violation of, two firearm prohibitions from neighbouring police services.
The accused was also determined to in violation of a release order which stipulates that the accused is not to have any weapons as per the Criminal Code of Canada.
As a result, Andrew Steven KREKO, 32, of Brantford, stands charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Assault
- Possession contrary to order x2
- Fail to comply with release order
- Carry in unsafe manner
- Carrying concealed
- Unauthorized possession
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession
- Prohibited weapon with ammunition
The accused was held for bail.

BPS TIGER Unit arrest 25-year-old man, seize firearm and over $16,000 in illegal drugs

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, members of the Brantford Police Service Tactical Intelligence Generated Enforcement and Response (T.I.G.E.R) Unit completed a firearms investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a Search Warrant had been obtained and executed at an address on Colborne Street. The warrant was executed with the assistance of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team.
As a result of the search, officers seized the following:
- 12-gauge shotgun
- Armoured vest
- Cell phones
- Canadian currency
- Approximately 18.2 grams of suspected Fentanyl
- Approximately 14 grams of suspected Cocaine
- Approximately 29.9 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
The seized illicit drugs have a total approximate street value of $16,2155.

As a result of the investigation, Colton ETMANSKI, 25, of Brantford, stands charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking X 3, contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Careless storage of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code
- Possession contrary to prohibition order contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused was held for bail.
