Brantford Police Arrest 48-year-old Hamilton Man for Weapons Incident

As a result of continued investigation, officers with the Brantford Police Service have arrested a 48-year-old man from Hamilton in connection for a March 13, 2026, shooting incident that occurred at a Colborne Street motel.
On May 11, 2026, a section 487 Criminal Code Search Warrant was granted for an Allan Avenue residence in Hamilton. On May 13, 2026, members of the Brantford Police Service Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit, Drug and Firearm Enforcement Unit, Major Crime Unit, and Criminal Intelligence Unit executed the warrant and arrested the accused.
As a result of the search, the following items were seized by police:
- 95.7 grams of cocaine
- 26.7 grams of fentanyl
- A 9mm round
- Canadian Currency
The street value of the fentanyl seized is approximately $2,670 when trafficked by the gram and the cocaine valued at $9,570 when trafficked by the gram, for a total street value of $12,240 for all drugs seized.
As a result of the investigation, the accused, a 48-year-old man from Hamilton stands charged with the following:
- Discharge a restricted firearm with intent
- Assault with a weapon
- Point firearm
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking, fentanyl
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
A second unidentified suspect remains outstanding.
