Brantford Police Investigating Suspicious Fire at Colborne Street Business

Members of the Brantford Police Service continue to investigate a suspicious fire that occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m., May 21, 2026, at a business located on Colborne Street near Peel Street.

When police arrived on scene, the business was partially engulfed in flames. Firefighters on scene worked to contain and extinguish the fire.  Brantford police attended the scene to assist and have since taken over the investigation.

Although several people were inside the premise during the incident, there are no reports of any injuries resulting from the fire. 

As a result of continued investigation, officers believe the fire was intentionally set.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed any suspicious activity, or who may have dash cam or security footage, to come forward.
