Downtown Core Engagement Response Team Arrest Three People, Seize Illegal Drugs

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., while conducting general foot patrol in the area of the parking garage on Icomm Drive, officers with the Brantford Police Service Downtown Core Engagement Response Team observed three individuals involved in a physical altercation.

Officers intervened and as a result of the incident three individuals were placed under arrest. Search incident to arrest located the following in possession of the first accused male:

• 20.8 grams of cocaine
• A quantity of Canadian currency

The second accused female was found to be in possession of the following:

• 11 grams of cocaine
• 1.7 grams of fentanyl
• A quantity of Canadian and American currency
• A large quantity of gift cards

The individuals were known to each other. Injuries received during the physical altercation were minor. 

As a result of the incident, a 41-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with the following and held for bail:

• Possession of for the Purpose Schedule 1

A 31-year-old female from Brantford stands charged with the following and held for bail:

• Possession for the Purpose Schedule 1 x 2
• Assault

And, a 41-year-old man from Brantford was arrested and charged with the following:

• Assault
• Cause Disturbance

The CERT Team is comprised of a combination of sworn officers and special constables who remain focused on proactive enforcement while also addressing offences and unwanted behaviour within the Downtown Core. The efforts of the BPS CERT team enhance the ability of our front-line patrol officers to attend to the safety of citizens community wide.
