UPDATE - Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Charges Laid
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m., the Brantford Police Service, Brantford Fire Department, and Brant-Brantford Emergency Medical Services responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a four-door sedan and a motorcycle on King George Road in Brantford.
Following the collision, the sedan left the roadway and struck a nearby residence and fence before becoming engulfed in flames.
A 70-year-old male motorcyclist from Puslinch sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre, where he was later pronounced deceased. A 39-year-old male from Brantford, who was operating the sedan, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was subsequently released. The occupants of the residence were uninjured; however, they were displaced from their home due to structural damage sustained in the collision.
As a result of the investigation conducted by the Brantford Police Traffic Unit, the 39-year-old male has been charged with the following Offences:
  • Dangerous Operation Causing Death
  • Impaired Operation Causing Death
  • Stunt Driving – Excessive Speed
The investigation is ongoing. Investigators believe additional individuals may have been present in the sedan or spent time with the driver prior to the collision. Police are seeking to identify and speak with these individuals to better understand the circumstances leading up to this incident.
