Brantford Police Investigate Home Invasion
Incident #20-7834
Brantford Police Service is continuing to investigate after a home invasion.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a home invasion at a residence on Morton Ave. Three unknown male suspects wearing masks forcibly entered the residence. After a brief confrontation between the suspects and residents, the male suspects fled on foot, eastbound on Morton Ave. The residents of the home who were present at the time of the incident were unharmed.
Brantford Police Service K9 Unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Suspect Information: Three males, early 20’s, wearing black clothing and black masks.

Female Arrested in Armed Robbery Investigation
Incident #20-6647 - UPDATE
As a result of the investigation, a 36 year old female from Brantford has been taken into custody without further incident as a result of an investigation on Sydenham Street related to a prior robbery. The female faces several charges under the Criminal Code including: robbery with a firearm, point firearm, careless use of firearm, firearm-use while committing offence, possession of weapon for dangerous purposes, disguise with intent, break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, firearm or weapon: and possession contrary to prohibition order x2.
Prior street closures will be removed, with vehicle and pedestrian traffic to resume shortly.
Brantford Police Service would like to thank the area residents for their cooperation and patience as the situation was resolved.
On February 16, 2020 at approximately 11:15 pm, Brantford Police Service members attended a Park Road North residence to investigate a robbery. Information was received that a female, disguised in all-black clothing, entered the residence where she brandished a firearm and robbed two male victims of prescription medication and money.

Brantford Police Service - Major Crime Unit is actively investigating an incident on Sydenham Street related to a prior robbery.
As a result of the investigation, Sydenham Street from Newcastle Street to Kennedy Street will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice.
We ask that the public refrain from attending the area due to the nature of the investigation.

Shajjad Hossain Idrish, 22 year old male from Hamilton is charged with Murder, Attempt Murder with a Firearm x2, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Careless Use of a Firearm under the Criminal Code.
Idrish is described as a male, middle eastern, 5’7”, 125 lbs, dark hair and brown eyes. He may be in the Brantford or Hamilton area.
The accused Roger VanEvery and Shajjad Idrish should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen do not approach them, contact police or 9-1-1.
