Accidental Drowning in Grand River Claims Life of 16 year old male

On Sunday June 28th, 2020 the Brantford Police Service entered into a Missing Persons investigation in relation to a Sixteen (16) year old male that had last been seen entering into the Grand River while with friends.
Subsequent investigation by the Brantford Police Service with the assistance of the Brantford Fire Department, utilizing all resources available including the BPS K-9 Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and drone, led to the location of the youth where he was found deceased. It is believed at this time the cause of the youth’s death was accidental drowning.
The Brantford Police Service would like to educate and remind residents of the importance of water safety to help prevent injuries or drowning. When participating in water related activities, please ensure that a properly fitted lifejacket is worn and secured at all times.

Drugs Seized and Two Arrested in BPS Street Crime Unit Investigation

On Thursday, June 11, 2020 members of the Brantford Police Service Street Crime Unit completed an investigation that led to the arrest of two people. During the investigation a search warrant pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act was executed at a residence on Emilie Street in the City of Brantford.
As a result of the investigation, approximately 150 grams of methamphetamine was seized. Police estimate that the street value of the drugs is approximately $22,000.
45 year old Nathan BACON of Brantford stands charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Failing to comply with the orders of the court, contrary to the Criminal Code.
A 38 year old female stands charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
