Vehicle Collision Results in Drug Trafficking and Weapons Charges
Incident # 20-46306
On Thursday, November 26, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Brantford Police Service responded to motor vehicle collision in the area of Golf Road and Powerline Road.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers observed a male fleeing the area. The male was arrested for failing to remain at the scene of the accident.
During the arrest, the male was found to be in possession of a large sum of money; approximately 38.9 grams of Fentanyl with an approximate street value of $10,500; Hydromorphone, Percocet, Clonazepam, Xanax and Dilaudid with a combined estimated street value of $325; and a butterfly knife.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old male from Hamilton is charged with:
- Possession for the purposes of trafficking x 6
- Possession of prohibited weapon
The individual was held for bail.

Police Seek Suspect Wanted for Pharmacy Robberies

On Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at approximately 1:15 p.m., Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a robbery at a pharmacy located on West Street near Morton Avenue.
A male entered the store, advised he was armed and demanded cash from a pharmacy employee.

Two Arrested After Convenience Store Robbery
On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Brantford Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a robbery at a convenience store located near Erie Ave and Gladstone Ave.
As a result of the investigation a 41-year-old female of no fixed address, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, was charged with:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Weapons Dangerous
- Concealed Weapon
- Robbery with a Firearm
Additionally, a 47-year-old male from Brantford was charged with:
- Robbery and Failure to Comply with Release Order

- Numerous successful incidents with regard to tracking/area searches for armed suspects involved in homicides, shootings, stabbings, robberies, and serious assaults.
- Numerous arrests/apprehensions of violent and armed individuals. During one incident in particular, Scout and his handler, Sergeant Kari Drake were credited with preserving the lives of Waterloo Regional Police Service Emergency Response Unit members. This occurred during a search for an armed homicide suspect with a shot fired.

OVER $165,000 IN ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED FROM STREET CRIME UNIT ARREST

On Friday, November 13, 2020, members of the Brantford Police Service Street Crime Unit and the Major Crime Unit entered into a firearms investigation. As a result of the investigation a Criminal Code search warrant had been obtained and executed at a residence on Wayne Drive in the City of Brantford with the assistance of the Brantford Police Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, and uniformed members of the Brantford Police Service.
During the search of the residence officers seized a quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine, a restricted firearm with ammunition, and a quantity of cash and other offence related property. The following items were seized:
- 593 grams (approx.) of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of $59,320
- 25 grams (approx.) of suspected crack cocaine with an approximate street value of $2,510
- 22.6 grams (approx.) of suspected methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $3,390
- 5,683 grams (approx.) of suspected cannabis with an approx. street value of $56,830
- 4,347 grams (approx.) of suspected cannabis edibles with an approx. street value of $43,470
The total estimated street value of drugs seized from the investigation is $165,520.

Drug Seizure and Trafficking Charges
On Monday, November 9, 2020 at approximately 12:20 am, Brantford Police Service received a 9-1-1 call to report an elderly male in medical distress at a residence in the area of East Avenue.
Officers attended the scene to check on the well-being of occupants. All appeared in order within the residence with no occupants found in medical distress.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male attempting to flee police. Investigation revealed that this individual was subject to a court ordered recognizance and two court ordered probation orders. The male was located in breach of conditions of these orders.
Further investigation found the male in possession of the following items, which were seized by officers:
- 8.2 grams (approx.) of cocaine with an approximate street value of $820
- 4 percoset pills with an approximate street value of $20
- Approximately $3700 in Canadian currency
As a result of the investigation, a 19 year old male from Ohsweken is charged with the following:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 2
- Breech of judicial release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Breech of probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and
- Possession of property obtained by crime under the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused is currently being held for bail.
