This page is dedicated to the over 600 school safety patrollers inBrantford schools

The CAA Safety Patrol Program is made up of elementary students who are on duty at their posts, rain or shine, all through the school year.

These dedicated students ensure that hundreds of elementary school children cross our streets and ride their buses safely. Our primary concern is the safety of all students travelling to and from schools in our community.

On June 21, 2013 the CAA South Central Ontario and the Brantford Police Service provided the second annual appreciation and recognition movie day at the Cineplex Odeon on King George Road. On this day patrollers and supervisors who

go above and beyond their duties were recognized.

All participating schools were offered a CAA subsidy grant for their end of school year safety patrol celebration/assembly. This year the CAA grant was used to partner with our local McDonald’s, a longtime community sponsor and supporter of the program. The CAA grant and contribution from McDonald’s was used to provide an extra value meal reward for all participants in the program.

The following special dignitaries were also on hand at the special recognition ceremony:  Chris Friel, Mayor of Brantford;  Jeff Kellner, Brantford Police Chief; and Geoff Nelson, Deputy Police Chief; Jean Anderson, Chair of the Brantford Police Services Board; and CAA Safety Patrol Honorary Spokesperson, Jennifer Botterill, Canadian Olympian – Women’s National Hockey Team.
