Brantford Police Service has charged a 28 year old Brantford male with numerous offences after an early morning investigation on Murray Street.
On May 4th, 2020 at approximately 4:13 a.m. the Brantford Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at a Murray Street address within the City of Brantford. Information was received that a domestic related dispute involving a firearm had taken place inside the residence. The victim, a 22 year old female had been physically assaulted, threatened bodily harm and forced to stay in the residence. Further information was received that a firearm was in the residence and used to threaten the victim.
The Brantford Police Service responded to the residence with assistance from the Emergency Response Team. Contact was made with the occupants and the victim was able to safely leave the residence. The victim had sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Services. Communication was made with the suspect inside the residence who peacefully surrendered himself and was arrested by police. Investigation revealed a loaded bolt action rifle, a magazine loaded with ammunition, two types of loose ammunition and a set of brass knuckles inside the residence.
As a result of the investigation a 28 year old Brantford male has been charged with:

•Utter Threats Cause Death/Bodily Harm CCC
•Forcible Confinement CCC
•Careless Use of Firearm CCC
•Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm CCC
•Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose CCC
