BPS Investigate Human Skull Found by Citizen - UPDATE

Police continue to work with the Center of Forensic Sciences and the Coroner’s Office in relation to human remains located in a remote field in the North end of Brantford earlier this year.  

On March 23, 2021 the identity of the remains were confirmed to be those of a 49-year-old male from the Brantford area. Next of kin have been notified of the death however, the name of the deceased will not be publicly released out of respect for the family.

The investigation into the circumstances of the death continues. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Members of the Brantford Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating the discovery of suspected human remains.
Earlier today, a citizen discovered what is believed to be a human skull and contacted police. The skull was found in a remote area of a field located in an industrial area in the North end of Brantford.
A postmortem coroner’s examination is to be scheduled. Until this examination has been completed, Brantford Police Service is unable to provide further information regarding the identification of the remains. As the investigation is in the very early stages, additional information will be released as it becomes available.
