Bus Shelters Targeted by Vandals

Brantford Police Service has received a report to advise that overnight, Thursday, October 1, 2020, ten bus shelters at various locations throughout Brantford were vandalized.

Damaged locations:
  • Shellard Lane between Diana Ave and Flanders Drive
  • Fairview Drive at North Park Street
  • Brant Ave near Ava Road
  • Colborne Street at Kiwanis Way
  • Bell Lane and Mount Pleasant Street
  • Blackburn Drive and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway
  • Colborne Street and Iroquois Street
  • Fairview Drive and West Street
  • King George Road at Kent Drive
  • Oak Park Road and Hardy Road

Through investigation, it appears as though the shelter glass was shattered by discharging of a weapon believed to be a BB-gun.

The damage incurred to each of the bus shelters is estimated at $2,000 per shelter to repair.

An eye-witness has advised that at approximately 3:30 am Friday, October 2, 2020, an unknown individual  travelling in a newer model white sedan discharged a weapon, believed to be a BB-gun, towards a bus shelter in the area of Oak Park Road and Hardy Road.

Brantford Police Service is currently investigating this incident and are asking area residents who may have any information including home or dash cam footage in the areas of interest between 11:30 pm Thursday, October 1st and 5:30 am Friday, October 2, 2020 to contact police at 519-756-7050 or Crime Stoppers at 519-750-8477 or 1-800-222-8477.  Alternatively, a web tip may be submitted at:
